Atlanta, GA players?

By cotguy130, in Warhammer Invasion Community

Seeing my fellow Georgian post inspired me to see if there's anyone in this part of the state who is planning on getting into WH:I.

It would be great to hear from others.

I can also report that the store I bought mine at had several copies reserved. People are buying.

Awesome . . . our store in Augusta, GA has sold about 8 copies of the game thus far with more on a waiting list. I think we'll have at least a 10 person strong community with more joining in as the weeks go by.

We should definately keep each other in the loop as events come up.

I'm from Athens, and make the occasional trip up there. Where do you play and how's the community?

Hey Swing- I play with one other guy and the community isn't. I wish I had better news, but apparently being a good seller doesn't equate to a store willing to support it.

Hey guys, our events are starting to pick up and we are looking to schedule something towards the end of this month along with attempting a solid event at this year's Siege Of Augusta event in late January.

If you are wanting to see upcoming events in the Augusta, Ga area hit up our community website www.comics-n-games.com/backlot and sign up. There is a LCG section of the forums where we post upcoming tourneys.

Right now on Monday nights at one location we tend to have a steady play group of around 4-8 players. Our current event turnouts are about the same, but gaining momentum.

Just to fill in our LGS will be running the League kit all of January . . . and finishing it up with a big tourney the last weekend of January. Details will be posted soon.

If you are close to the area and not near a store who has the league kit, this will be an awesome chance to ride out for a fun tournament and a chance to win some of the goods along with other prizes.

I'm also in the Atlanta area. What general region are you looking to play in? I'm on the south side but I work on the north.

I live North (Alpharetta), so I'm amenable to most anywhere up here. I'm willing to drive some to split the difference if that helps. My only current playing partner lives and workd north-ish as well.

Hey guys,

We are running a league at our store right now (which can be pretty hard for you guys out of town) but the LAST weekend of January we are looking to host a bit Invasion tournament. It'd would prob be on a Sunday.

If you guys are interested I'll post up details here.

Nerv- That poster is a beautiful thing. I'm not available on the 31st or I would easily make the drive just to support the game, and your work in organizing this.

It's too bad the game store owners in Atlanta won't get their head out of WotC's backside and realize the value of other, and in most cases, better games.

Why thank you :D

We've worked hard to develop a good number of players. Most of us are defected L5R players that just got burned out on the game after the newest edition. We've managed to win over a few Magic players just by explaining the "LCG" system to them.

I'm sorry your stores aren't as supportive as ours. We'll definately be during more events in the future, and if you hit me up with days during the week you may be able to make a trip I'd be glad to work on planning some stuff more out of town folks can come to. Our store definately doesn't have a space issue, so the more players we can cram in we are all for it.

My LGS is Gigabites Cafe and is located in Marietta. I have recently started playing and we have at least four others playing currently. I believe another five or more are interested. The store's website is www.giga-bitescafe.com. If you guys are still looking for somewhere to play on the north side of Atlanta, I hope you will come by.

The best way to get a game is to join the store forums and post. I hope to see you there!

We should all stay in touch via each others forums in order to spread the word about various events. I'm sure some of us wouldn't mind driving out of town for a few solid tournaments here and there. Same hopefully goes for you guys.

Hey! I just posted on the 'May 16th GA tournament' thread, but this one has even more responses, so I figured I'd give y'all a shout.

On May 15, the Regionals are being held in Orlando, and we are seriously partial to road-trippers, particularly because I'm one myself. I've driven to Columbus, OH for Origins and Albany, NY for an ArenaBowl, plus countless concerts along the East Coast, and I gotta tell ya that it's fun as heck to load up a car or truck with some buds and ride out for an event, especially gaming! cool.gif

Check the 'W:I Regionals Orlando' thread in this section to get the scoop on the whole burrito. We are absolutely committed to making it a seriously memorable experience. And how great would it be to go to the next GA tournament or league with Regionals-only tokens or, *gasp*, the Champion Board? You will love it, that's our promise. corazon.gif

Some of us may be willing to make that drive. We are working out the details right now. I hope your event at does way better than the one at the FFG Gaming Center. We need to show them the Southeast has a strong LCG environment.

Hey folks! The prereg page is up for the Southeastern Regionals. The tournament is a week from Saturday, and signing up now will save you $5 over signing up at the door. Register at www.nextlevellan.com/ and check out www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp for event descriptions. FFG has even more details from me, and should be posting them on the W:I page this week.

We would be so stoked to see Georgians at the event. Represent your state!
