With the Kihraxz fighter coming out next month, there is a much needed boost to Scum and Villainy.

I've been toying around with this List:

Prince Xizor - Vet Inst., Accuracy Correct, Internal Damp, Virago

Black Sun Soldier

Black Sun Ace - Vet Inst, Int. Damp

Black Sun Ace - Vet Inst, Int. Damp

I'm trying to work this list out in my head and keep the Black Sun theme. However, I find that Xizor is not that great of an "ace" pilot and the Star Viper (which is a great ship) feel left wanting more...

Guri is not a good alternative either. Both Xizor and her come in over 30 points, which just feels to high for what they bring.

anyone else feeling this with Starvipers?

I quite enjoy Guri. If you take PtL and Adv Sensors with her you can get into R1 and still have a focus if you boost/barrel. if you decide on action economy you can end up with 2 focus and a TL or focus TL, and a boost/barrel.

She's a wizard, basically.

Run Xizor with FCS instead of Accuracy Corrector. AC isn't as good on a 3 dice ship especially at range 1. Xizor is pretty awesome in the end game.

I wouldn't run VI on the Black Sun Aces. Going from PS 5 to PS 7 doesn't help you all that much. Determination or Calculation will probably be a better option.

Both of the named Star Vipers are excellent. I prefer Guri over Xizor but more because I am not a fan of the z-95 (Xizor's ideal meatshields).

Some 'effective' builds I have used with success so far:

Xizor w/ Vet. Instincts, Virago, FCS, autothrusters = 37 pts (could add inertial dampeners for +1 pt). This version is ideal alongside a bunch of z-95s because Xizor is basically shooting foucs + TL most of the time and doesn't have to worry about protecting himself until all the z-95's are dead. You could even throw on a flechette torpedo to help limit opponent mobility for one turn.

Guri or Xizor w/ predator, virago, advanced sensors & autothrusters = 39 or 40 pts. Particularly deadly if you can get into range 1 (particularly for Guri, but preferrably out of arc). The advanced sensors allows you to use the very useful segnor's loop without worrying about losing your action (same for bumping). It also lets you pull off some unexpected moves with a pre-move boost or barrel roll.

Guri w/ lone wolf, virago, sensor jammer & autothrusters = 39 pts. A tank. Guri kitted out this way is extremely hard to kill and an end-game nightmare. However, it takes some skill to use effectively because you have to avoid at least some enemy firing arcs or force them to use a movement action (like barrel roll or boost) or k-turn/s-loop to keep a shot on you. This allows the sensor jammer to shine (otherwise they will take focus as an action thus negating its usefulness).

The generics are not useless, but they seem overcosted unless you can figure out a way to effectively leverage their amazing dial and versatile action bar. Not something that a lot of people have figured out yet, however.

I am not personally great fan of Xizor, but I quite like Guri with Advanced Proton Torpedoes!

But I feel like there should be more ace pilots with Scum & Villany in general. I would love to see at least one good pilot for Starviper and maybe one day they will release some Scum & Villany Aces expansion, like they did with Imperial and Rebel factions too. Also I would love to see that I could buy a 'blister' expansion pack for Scum Y-Wings, Headhunters and HWK etc. Maybe if they start to sell those, they would have chance to add few pilots for each ship too.

I agree with Zazaa. There will hopefully be a Scum Aces release with StarViper and maybe Z-95 or Y-Wing pilots? I also agree with the Blister packs for Scum Y-wings and Z-95s.

Most Wanted is mainly created to get the S&V faction going. Then added up will be the more 'special' ships like the Scyck, Kyrhaxz, and Star Viper. I am not sure FFG means to dwell very long around scum Y wings and Z95's...

I don't mind less elite pilots in S&V, after all, they're supposed to be rable...

S&V isn't supposed to be rabble, they are mercenaries and bounty hunters. Big difference; Boba Fett is not rabble.
