For those with more fluff-fu than me...

Other than the black sun, what other cannon syndicates could one paint their scum as?

The Hutt Cartel is the most obvious one, no idea how that would look though in terms of colourscheme or symbols

Just looking at the binayre pilot card, anyone got any ideas of colour matches for a repaint? Vallejo or GW.

I kind of like the idea of each pilot being a solo mercenary and flying his own personal ship in his own colours, but like Rogue Squadron. There are some nice Yakuza themed reprints out there too.

Binayre pirates were a group headed by Kath Scarlet in a binary (see what they did there? ) planet system in the Corellian System, orbiting Centerpoint Station. Dual rising suns could be a cool motif.

Car'das' smugglers were pretty powerful, but I don't recall a specific unifying element to their fleet.

Talon Karrde's smuggler's alliance was Car'das' successor and would be a great idea for a scum force or mixed Scum/Rebel fleet, though again it lacks a unifying element (other than Mara Jade). The Wild Karrde was his "flagship," and while Mel sells an Action VI Transport, it's almost as large as a CR90.

The Syndicate was a similar organization based on Cularin, a heavily forested world that changed hands before and during the Clone Wars. Greens, leaf patterns, or even camouflage would all be appropriate.

Depends on who you ask... Mandos received a ret-con in the Clone Wars series. The Death Watch had a unifying symbol & livery - a uniform, if you will. Karen Traviss' Republic/Imperial Commando books imply that not all Mandos, even the ones on Mandalore, adhere to the pacifistic views of the majority.

So, yeah, if you wanted a Mando force it would be cool to see them all in individual schemes, maybe with a mythosaur skull as a unifying element.

I just looked up the Binayre pirates on Wookiepedia. The entry says that some of them wore the insignia of the Black Suns, but that's the only mention of the two working together.
