Does his lightsabre extend and let him take down an entire bridge-length of stormtroopers? Has he slowly retreated along the length of the bridge with new stormtroopers hopping over the bodies of their predecessors? Has he got a really effective Move power and has just blown over all the stormtrooopers on the bridge in front of him at once? If he's not retreating, then come the stormtroopers so far away from him are dead? If he is retreating then why is each successive storm trooper climbing over the dead bodies of his predecessors to get close to him when they're armed with blaster rifles and he's armed with a close combat weapon?

I just assumed that the Jedi was fighting a defensive action and had started at the far end of the bridge, withdrawing gradually while cutting down anyone that came close. And deflecting a few blaster bolts back at the shooters, naturally.

That doesn't work. If they were just shooting and it was all deflection, they would all be piled up at one end. They must have been advancing to try and get close to the person with the close combat weapon... with their rifles. It makes no sense.

The Jedi actually pushed the first platoon back from his side of the ridge behind the bridge all the way across (both in cutting them down and deflecting bolts from the rear).

He then spots second platoon arriving and falls back, hoping to use the bridge as an anchor so the troopers can't outflank him, the bridge also serving as a choke-point.

For their part, 2nd platoon has always been the B-team for this garrison, and thinks they can succeed using the same tactic 1st platoon already failed doing.

In short: Grass is green, sky is blue, and stormtroopers are dumb as bricks.

I don't remember if it was Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan movie, but I remember a Kung Fu fight where Our Hero just delivered an absolute beat-down on a whole bunch of mooks, and the very last one standing looks at his nunchucks and the piles of his unconscious friends and just throws them down with a "I'm out." look before turning to leave.

That was a great moment. It's something done in a number of films, though rarely. I seldom find it anything other than hilarious.

How about this as a story:

The party are a group of Rebel infiltrators, on an unnamed Jungle world thats being used as a Prison by the Imps.

The PC's have been tasked with breaking in during the transfer of a captured Force user who has been a great ally to the Rebellion until recently, when suddenly they where uncovered by an inquisitor, unfortunately the prisoner has knowledge useful to the Empire if they can get it out of her.

The whole party together took out the Troopers on the bridge in an ambush, using blaster and sabre from the underbrush, as this bridge was the planed path to get from their hidden ship to the prison.

But they are limited on time to get the primary objective done, as they need to get to the Prison and didn't expect reinforcements so soon (thanks to a despair rolled by a PC).

So the guardian valiantly offers to make a stand as rear guard, slowing down the reinforcements while the rest of the PC's attempt to get the primary objective completed.

The Guardian will either catch up with the Party at the Prison or at their ship hidden a little ways away, once he has dispatched the Troopers.

The second engagement has not started yet as the Troopers are assessing the scene and the Guardian is happy to delay, but not suicide.

The Party are using comms scramblers to prevent the Imps from communicating back to base.

Less time for the target to react to the shots may be why. Especially with Jedi who are known to be abe to bounce bolts back at their shooters. Sure if you stand off and flood them with fire they can't block them al but do you really want to risk being the person whose bolt does get bounced back?

Still the book looks fascinating and if I ever try to do a conversion of my favorite Saga edition character then Warleader might suit him well, depending on how its abilities covert to capital ship and fleet combat. (He was a crew member of an anti-Imperial pirate frigate that turned into an Alliance privateer then a captain in the Alliance fleet before he became a Jedi.)

I'm curious about what vehicles and ships we'll get as well. Perhaps some new ships specializing in escort roles? I would love to see new escort frigate classes or older ones that haven't been included in the RPG so far and are either FFG created or from other sources.

I hope one of the books upcoming has the Miraluka. I don't like the idea of making an unofficial one especially with so much debate comes with the species
