So this begs the question....
Is there now scope for a "0K" a setting that bridges the two universes....
could open up some fun options.... Especially with older miniatures....
C'mon surely Gadge already has a set of house rules for this!
If I am not mistaken, the initial fluff was that the Warhammer world was a world cut off from the 40k galaxy by Warp Storms.
Gadge having the inside scoop know more about it than me so I think he has a good explanation of the history of the mythos and how the lore was developed.
Interesting to hear, I too had heard at one time that Sigmar was supposed to be one of the 2 missing primarchs. You know the two legions that are listed as "Record Expunged" for Emperor only knows why. however that is what I liked about the old fluff, it left mysteries and questions that were unsolved, ask GW for an explanation and they would say nothing on it, yet with all these mysteries and open ended questions the main story arc still flowed smoothly. It wasn't like soem cryptic messages that doesn't tie into anything that you see most of these days (cough* Planetside cough* bending of Araxus cough*).
Now these days if feels like GW has to expaline everything, They rewrote the Necrons into Space Tomb Kings and explained the Dark Eldar's hierarchy of society. It can be argues that the lore was better when those races were only explained in a investigative puzzle of witness accounts and a codex of barely translated alien hieroglyphs. Those two races were more unknown and it gave them a horror that Orks, Tyranids, even Chaos did not have. Warhammer had the Undead that hid inside the empire and the Skaven were everywhere being able to launch an unprovoked attack on a village safe inside borders of a kingdom without warning. Now everything is explained from Tomb kings to where sigmar was all these times, the mystery is removed, the horror is gone and thus the allure of these franchises has dulled.
