Looking at the Tie Punisher, would this be a good Imperial equivalent of the BBBBZ swarm?

No. It's got a ton of health but will melt before it can do any meaning full damage. You'd better off with:

4 x Tempest with TIE/x1 and Accuracy Corrector

Your choice of a 16 point TIE Fighter (Dark Curse, Backstabber) or a naked Scimitar

Those ships will tend to be harder to kill than the naked Punishers and they'll do more consistent damage. They probably won't do as well against high agility targets as BBBBZ will but they'll stand up better against large numbers of low attack ships than BBBBZ.

You are probably right, but 4 Advanceds and a TIE seems to me to be the Imperial version of BBBBZ while 4 Advanceds with Accuracy Correctors and Clusters seems to be more along the lines of 4 Bs with AS or FCS.

There was a whole post about AC/DC being the 'go to' 4 tie adv dark curse list. Followed by a myriad of AC/DC related offspring combinations song titles.

Why? It's more expensive than doing the same thing with Tempests and you get a less durable list.

What Accuracy Corrector does isn't improve your damage; instead think of it as a way to let your actions completely be independent of your damage, thereby improving the mobility and survivability of your craft.

Punishers, having only 1 Agility, no Evade action, and no Barrel-Roll action, will benefit far less than the 3 agility craft with Evade and Barrel-Roll.

Yes, Punishers have Boost, but that's more offensive than defensive (better at gaining an attack that you otherwise missed than BR, but far worse at arc-dodging).

If advanced homing missiles do the 'no evading this damage' thing people are speculating I think that 4 tempest with ac, mk II, and advanced homing missiles will beat 'thunderstruck' in alpha damage against things with good agility. I don't know what to call that list for short yet. I think it gives a nice dial upgrade with still a strong alpha that will surpass the cluster missiles against arc dodgers and other pesky agile ptl users.

My guess is they are going to reduce agility by 1 and allow you to spend the TL on the attack. If they ignore attack dice, Rhymer is going from not viable to borderline OP (can't believe I'm saying that). He can shoot them at any range.
