New EoE adventure

By 2P51, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I wonder if the new adventure book will be for advanced characters like Jewel of Yavin was or be based on starting heroes. Hopefully the former.

Advanced characters or advanced players? When I ran that module for my players they were relatively low XP but they did fine on their dice rolls. What they got hung up on was trying to dice roll their way through interacting with the rather large NPC cast during the auction scene. I had to sort of force feed them basic roleplaying until they got the hang of what the adventure was intending.

^This.

I read JoY and figured my players were not ready. Ruleswise they were okay, but they were not in the mindset of doing the social encounters they would come across yet so I went and created my own campaign first. Now the party has actively made their way into Cloud City so I might spring JoY on them anyway.

Again, the EotE boards are not the xwing boards. These here are all mature guys and girls that have actual conversations on all things to with the RPG and Star Wars as a whole. Sure things can get heated at times but overall I have never been on a message board that was this much of a tight community. Ever.

Don't let your bad experience with the boys on the xwing side of things drive you away. I can safely say that we could always use another eloquent poster on these boards.

Furthermore girls are hopelessly under represented here too, so make a difference!

Thanks to you and others for your kind words. I'll stick around. I'm obsessively clicking refresh on the forum at work anyway so who am I kidding. I just feel exhausted by the debate.

I also sadly have to agree - the x-wing forums are unhealthy. I don't care that the latest expansion is coming out, I don't want to discuss things there. It isn't a safe space.

I also agree this forum is full of good people. I'm straight up impressed.

Also where's my BH sourcebook? OK now I'm back on track.

when is this out???????????

Probably Decemberish.

"Mature"?! Speak for yourself!

+1.. My career choice means I have to pretend to be a fully functioning, mature adult. So far, I've got away with... but I also agree with DanteR.. this is one of the best forums I've been on in a long time.. I reckon coz it's two forums in one. SW & RP'ing... just my two pennies :)

There are multiple levels of maturity. I find being a 40 year old man that can still enjoy games, cartoons and adventure books to be quite mature. My colleague who only watches tv finds me hopelessly childish... I would never ever ever trade places with that guy!

...and he'll have an ulcer with associated stress probably, later in life..

Meanwhile, in our 'childish' lives, in Toys'R'Us we run around the store with the plastic lightsabers shouting SHWING and other lightsaber noises as we go down to the checkout (yes I did this with both my sons 8 years ago!!) I had to have a red one,,, both my boys wanted to be Jedi so I was Sith by default

My motto is "I may grow old, but I'll never grow up." I've maintained it through the past 20 years of "adulthood".

Rather than wait for splat books, I've added specializations to other careers lacking them or juggled some of the specializations around to even out the options for my players. For example, took Demolitionist out of Hired Guns and added to Technician; replaced Demolitionist in Hired Gun with Gunslinger; added Marshal to Bounty Hunter; added Analyst to Engineer; added Agitator and Saboteur to Spy; added Gunner and Heavy to soldier. And so on...

OK, maybe you're "that guy" when a girl enters a thread... But otherwise? Are you serious?

I have had more negative experiences with this particular community than any other I've visited (including the aforementioned X-Wing board). "Can get heated at times" has always been, for me, "call him names and do everything in our power to drive him away for not liking [this thing] that we all like." The hive-mind mentality is downright vicious at times.

Anyway, not trying to stir up trouble... But Bubblepopmei? Be warned this guy is not being entirely straight with you.

However, yes, most of the time, this place can be pretty great. Especially if you're looking for some info on the RPG or running a campaign or random Star Wars lore or whatnot.

Interesting.

I'll probably pick this up due to being a completionist, but given that none of my usual play groups have much interest in what one might call a typically "fringe" style campaign, I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of it.

Then again, I'm planning on adapting at least a couple EotE adventures for my upcoming Force and Destiny campaign, so who knows...

Just curious...

If you're running a "Jedi on the run" campaign (which I assume you are), does your party not wish to hide away in seedy starports and planets on the fringe?

Or how exactly are you running things?

I'd be interested to find out!

(Personally, I'm avoiding F&D because it seems to fly in the face of everything we learned from the OT. But that's not to say I'm not intrigued by the game itself.)

Dear Harlock,

It is unbelievable that you of all people would come back here to start this. In fact, I am not gonna waste any more time and words on you since a simple search will be plenty enough for anyone here to see that you are completely misrepresenting a conflict you had (and actively sought out) on these boards.

This does look cool, but whether its the Tech book or the BH book, I would like to see Beskar Armor from the BH book & How To Upgrade your NPC Droid in the Tech book.

Also it would be nice to see how we can increase the # of Hardpoints on ships in the Tech book as well.

Ha. Well, just imagine *my* surprise at seeing you try to come across as open-minded and sensitive...

And "actively sought out?" (sigh) I'm not even going to go there. In fact, you're right. A simple search should reveal the truth.

I'm just glad you're reaching out to new posters. Good on you.

You are aware people can just search here right?

You are aware that no one here gave you **** for not liking something right?

You are aware that it was you giving people **** for liking something?

You are aware that people (myself) included told you numerous time that they did not mind you not liking something but that they took offense to your inflamatory remarks about the fact that they liked a certain series that you didn't?

That you asked them "what they were smoking"?

That you acted as if you were the purveyor of what constituted "good or bad Star Wars"?

You are aware that there was no hivemind bashing you for not liking Rebels but that posters collectively asked you to not make it personal?

That you were basically doing what the earlier poster experienced on the xwing boards?

If not, perhaps you should do a small search both on this forums and in your soul and you will know it to be true.

Best way to not rehash the x-wing argument here is to not engage.

If you have a problem with a poster, best to Ignore them rather than keep the flame going.

I like their choice of worlds to base this adventure on as well, giving us a relatively new location in Ord Mantell, and then a place that has a little history in Star Wars lore in Saleucami. Really looking forward to this book.

As mature as grown ups playing an RPG in a galaxy far far away Cowboys and Indians with dice can be...

Fixed that for you.
