Token flood problem

By CaineHoA, in X-Wing

I guess you all know it with each expansion i get more useless target lock, focus, shield, numbering and stress tokens...

What would be a solution to this? What other tokens can we suggest FFG to add?

Isn't it time to add more missions as well?

I don't like to pay for useless material and i don't think it even makes too mcuh sense business wise for FFG.

A new player who just buys core and wave 7 will need them.

Remember what FFG's stance is. You get everything you need to play ship in the pack. They are not going to require you to buy another ship for TLs. Though, they are starting to ease up on the ID tokens.

Yeah, you can't assume that everyone has the same experience as you.

Personally, donate them to new players. Nothing builds a community like free stuff.

I don't see a target lock on the punisher product picture.

I think the core box has enough target lock, focus, evade and stress token for most games ive played. Also they could just not add as many to each pack.

I mean seriously you get 4 new ionization tokens with each punisher but youll probably only get one ion mine token... yeah seems logical...

to me clearly half of what they add is just a filler because they don't want to give you other stuff or think about what would actually make more sense.

Thanks for reminding me, I gotta pick up those mini rubber bands to keep my TL pairs organized.

Sticky back velcro. Best X-Wing related decision I ever made.

the minor inconvenience to us really doesn't merit FFG breaking the "this pack comes with everything you need to play"

As an X-Wing Collector (as in, I have waaaaaay more ships than is practical), I'm suffering from the same problem. I probably have a couple pounds of tokens at this point. I've been considering throwing them out, but it just feels......wrong.

I just can't make myself do it.

Mini rubber bands - keeping all my different upgrade cards in order since 2013.

I would mind seeing some stress tokens that were normal on one side and 'double' or a big 2 on the other.

definitely would help with tycho :)

I gloss-coat all of my cardboard pieces before I do anything else with them. But I'm to the point now where I don't even bother doing the shield, target lock, focus, evade, etc. tokens. I punch them out and keep them in a bag just in case I ever need them, or someone else does.

I'm wallpapering a bedroom with them

I keep each category of upgrade card in the large poly bag that comes with most small ships to hold the cardstock.

I keep my target locks matched up with loom bands and i use the bigger bags for large ship card stock to keep pilot/ship cards.

All the actual ships i keep in some fantastic £2.50 'home bargains' storage boxs. Each one has about 24 compartments perfectly sized to take a small ship, base, pegs, dial, spare base chits and counters. I have two for empire, one for rebels, one for S&V and i just need to pick up that box and the pilot cards bag to go to a game.

If anything, you will probably still need more Ionization tokens. The Ion Mine deals two tokens to every target it hits. That thing hits a swarm, you could end up doling out a dozen ion tokens.

I don't need to add two ion tokens to a swarm because only one matters anyway doesnt it? Or do small ships with 2 tokens stay ionized for two rounds?

Do you have a size or link of the bands you use? I hadn't even considered that, and it is a great idea.

You only shed one ion token per round.

Remember what FFG's stance is. You get everything you need to play ship in the pack.

If I buy a Punisher, and I equip Cluster Mines + Extra Munitions, and I use my mines without removing the others of the playing area... I don't have everything to play my ship in the pack.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want more Mines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incorrect. You remove all Ion tokens after the 1 forward.

I don't like to pay for useless material and i don't think it even makes too mcuh sense business wise for FFG.

I've made my own pilot skill markers by making some custom tokens, printing them out, and gluing them to unused focus/evade tokens with a glue stick.

Corran Horn could use a token to track if he's double tapped.

Marksmanship token.

There's some effects that could use tracking, to help against brain fart mistakes.

Once you execute the 1-forward ion move you remove ALL tokens.

You could use the "you can't shoot" token from the SLAM action for Corran.
