Will FFG have wave 7 out before the con just to stir up the lists?
Historically for the con they release the wave but do not allow it in the lists. The X-wing nationals is scheduled to start this year at the same time as doors open to the main hall.
Will we get to see the "playable on release rule" be used this year?
If the sky does fall will this make you change your list? Would you run a list without the applied play time to confirm its abilities?

If all goes according to plan *draws hood up over head* I'll be fielding some Wave 7 in my casual X-Wing games at GenCon.
The playable on release rule will still apply as normal, but like last year, the GenCon sales are a pre-release, and the product is not officially released or legal until it's in stores all over the world. If it launches at GenCon Wave 7 will NOT be legal for US Nationals. There's no question on that.
Well they didn't allow it last year at Nationals when the YT-2400, Decimator and Rebel Aces were released an hour before the first prelims started. So I'm sure they won't allow it this year, either.

It is probably going to be like last year with Rebel Aces and Wave 5. Rebel Aces took a few weeks after Gen con and Wave 5 took a few months. The raider will possibly be out in September and Wave 7 will be out around December. Unless yo go to gencon then those can get it in August but Wave 7 will probably not be tournament legal until the full retail release.
