Tie Punisher
Sorry, but reading that drove me crazy. To and too are not interchangeable.
the two, to and too, are not to be used interchangeably. It would be too much for Visceroth.

And now, I don't have to read his crazy rambling again.
Back to the Punisher. I look forward to seeing ships trying to avoid Cluster Mines.

Edited by Tipperarypersonally, I still don't see much point in cluster mines; **** things roll as well as green dice (*shudder*)
the guarantees of the conner net are far more attractive to me
Edited by ficklegreendiceFree damage is free damage. And even if they don't hit, the opponent will be trying to avoid them. A Cluster Mine cluster is a bit larger than the Connor Net.
Make no doubt, the Connor Net is amazing. But so are the Clusters.

I think they could be considered more like placeable asteroids than an actively offensive weapon. They are so wide spread that you could probably close up one of the side "corridors" and force your rival's large ship to come and play where you want.
Said, that, Conner Net is even scarier near the table edges or close to the asteroid cloud.
For extra dissuasive effect, lay down a cluster mine set, then next round move 1 forward and drop a conner net. Noone will want to go thru there.
Edited by AzrapseI don't know about Space Fantasy, but the term Science Fantasy has existed since the 50s.
Heinlein was using the term "Speculative Fiction" in the late 40s. That encompasses Fantasy, Science Fiction, and a few other genres.
I'm in the camp that doesn't consider Star Wars to be Science Fiction, it's simply Fantasy with technological trappings.
It's a story fundamentally about good and evil wizards. You can't really get more fantasy than that.
Also it's fantasy of the highest order to imagine how the Falcon can actually steer.

I concur. I would say its main use is to wall off an asteroid lane rather than damage, although if you had 3 fighters on your tail could always splash all of them, haha.
I would say that Ion Bombs and Conner Nets are the star bombs of this wave. Punisher still rocks pretty hard regardless.
I'd rather see Stealth Soontir Fel or Phantom run over all 3 Cluster Mines than hit a Conner Net.
Deathrain will make Cluster Mines and Conner Nets more than just blocking off space. Deathrain can move in front of high PS pilot and drop them before they move. Or even drop them on top of said target. Personally, I like in front.

Stealth Soontir wouldn't get to roll any green dice, chances are all three mines would hit at least once. With no hull upgrade or shield its bye bye fel.

Mmmmmmm. An upgrade that rewards player skiiiiiiiiill...
So would I! That's easier said than done though, particularly in the case of the Phantom where you'll have to set your dial before knowing where she's going to decloak to.Mmmmmmm. Exactly why wave 7 is so exciting
And why it'd be tragic if it didn't make an impact ![]()
Wave 7 has been the most interesting wave since wave 4 IMNHO.
When it was announced it was EXTREMELY skubby (divisive) But yet it's very very interesting what is being brought to the table.
We've got fugly ships (punisher, K-wing) all new mines bombs and mechanics (connor net, ion bombs, cluster mines). GREAT abilities for each Imp/Reb pilot. The scum stuff gets more interesting with the kihwertwerguitzzzzz being a pretty solid looking ship, potentially we even get carrier mechanics.
Truly, I am excited for 2019 when the wave finally gets off the boat.

Admiral Zaarin was the creator of the Tie Defender, and also the tag 'Avenger' was created by the pilots, since the craft was called Tie Advanced.
Both correct, we use Avenger around here to differentiate the TIE Fighter Advanced with Vaders Advanced.
My question is... what's the relevance? Neither are really being discussed here.
Oh, and welcome to the x-wing boards!
Just pointing out a little fact, nothing more.
Thanks for the welcome. ![]()

Yeah I am sorry about that. The Xbox 1 typing system is strange. Its overly sensetive and will ether add letters on my sellection track or not give me a space when I choose it.

Which source books? Why not go by the films themselves, and then go by the books only when they don't contradict the films. You know, the Dr. Curtis Saxton schmo of analysis.
Rhymer is my homeboy. I have to try that now.Deathrain is unexpected and awesome. Mk2s might be good for PTL Rhymer.
Rhymer + PTL + APT + Ptroton Bombs + Extra Munitions + Mk2 hahaha I'll try it I swear.
I didn't even think about this; I love me some Rhymer.
I did 2 protons and push the limit and he splattered Emon in 2 turns; now I'm saving 2 points with extra munitions too!
I just noticed that neither named pilot has a EPT slot, that kinda annoyed me, i thought we had gone through this with the Lambda already.
lack of an ept doesn't make much sense to me on the punisher (on the K? eh, maybe cause of SLAM and Adv. SLAM?) but on the other hand, it doesn't seem to need it
I would've enjoyed V.I on Redline to hit the PS 9 cap, but other than that I can't really see the benefit of many epts. both named punishers are very tightly designed to have access to all the tools they need to be effective; tossing on PTL or Predator wouldn't really add that much for the additional points they tack on.

Sadly means no Deadeye for any of the heavy bombers too.

Yeah, thankfully! I think Deadeye on a K-Wing with Recon Spec would've been pretty overpowered. I'm already excited about the Advanced SLAM for setting up ordnance, but being able to double focus on any turn and essentially Redline-fire whatever you wanted would've been a bit too powerful.

True, I guess had they allowed EPTs they would've had to go with different native pilot skills. Don't get me wrong I like what they've done with the heavy bomber elite pilots, the whole package just feels a little short of fixing ordnance - more than happy, nay hopeful, that time will prove me wrong.
Now back to deadeye recce spec combos with EM.... Hmmmm... Options?
Slave1? Decorators? Will have to see if there are any interesting builds that aren't too gimmicky.

I agree, they probably would have chosen different abilities if they were keeping Talents on the table. I'm also very excited about the new ordnance though, and I think it's going to be at least relevant if not prevalent.
As far as Deadeye/RecSpec, the main issue is that there's no ship with Crew that can do it with more than Extra Munitions and one other ordnance slot. I love Nera Dantels like this, using a Fire-Control System to keep Locks and blast away happily, but she's pretty fragile (EM will at least make her more cost effective!). Otherwise, you've got one missile on the Slave I that gets to double up, and the Decimator only has a Bomb slot after equipping EM. That's it.
