3d Terrain for Armada

By WWPDSteven, in Star Wars: Armada

Nice write up. I really like the embers you painted on.

Amazing

Hmmmm one would have to move the 3d terrain for certain things like squadrons hiding in them and ships directly in the center. . . I like it though. I like it a lot. . . Now I have to go pick up some

Yeah we picked some up and even unpainted, it adds a great deal of depth and immersion to the battlefield. Very fun.

Would you move the terrain or would you create a house rule to treat it like a ship on ship collision but instead of dealing a damage card you follow the rules for the specific train type?

Nah, I don't do house rules. The pieces lift off the stands quite easily, and the stands are fairly removeable as well. In our batrep coming up later this week, I had a VSD chillin' on the station, and we just replaced the 3d station with the cardboard token- it was no problem at all.

I can't play another game without these.

Oh no, DrunkTarkin has been spoiled. . . On a side note, once I figure out how to add star wars lasers via android phone, I am make it look like the debris and rocks are getting pounced. . .

Do are there ways to increase stand height? Or decrease so that ships like the VSD with its large stand goes right over the debris or aestroids? (the station would have to be taller I think. . . )

I wonder. . . What do the fighters look like over station? If the scale is right. . . One could add in extra fighter models (when you have 2 core sets and 5 fighter packs of each, one Ned's to find something to do with the extra 8 squadrons of X-Wings and 6 squadrons of ties. . . Add some via thin wire to the station, some broken up in the debris and aestroids. . . )

Wow, very nice stuff!! I sense a disturbance in the wallet as more money flys out for Armada stuff.

How can one play Armada without these? Fighting hard to save my money.

Do the stands come out of the bases? I run over obstacles all the time or use them as a place to put fighters, so am hoping the stands come out easily.

Just place the regular tokens, and put these on top of them...remove as needed :)

This is what I plan on doing.

It seems that the stands remove from the base so that will make life easy.

They have Assault Frigate and Gladiator debris as well. . .

I've bought stuff from Space Rocks for X-wing, and love it. The cast ships definitely have some bulk to them. Gotta admit that the stands I had are garbage (quite literally, that super thin plastic you see on the front of toy boxes or whatever) but the new bases look to be acrylic instead, and that's a nice touch for sure

They are selling improved stands for their X-Wing products as well. Seems they are smart and are upgrading with the times

Wallet damage received and taken, thanks. :D

Crit, Crit, Crit, Crit and Accuracy on downed shields, poor Corvette didn't stand a chance. It had no defense.

It's only $95 without the promo code. Hell I am getting this, my corseceng acrylics and my TSTAK carrying cases all ordered on the 10th.. . It will be am expensive but worthwhile buy.

Got my carry case issues fixed by Walmart for $25....but this here, I have to get this. Oh yeah. This is required.

I got a carrying case from Walmart as well but it does not quite hold everything, and I need to think about the 4 large ships I am getting as well as my 5 shrimp frigates

Mine will see me to wave two, after that I may have to upgrade....

Yes they do but as others have said, just deploy the tiles as normal beneath them (or drill holes in your tiles to match the stands) and you can remove the 3D terrain as needed to let ships and squadrons pass through the tiles as normal.

You know, I thought I would sneak it past.
