Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked. I've looked around and have been unable to locate a concise answer.
In my game this afternoon, we decided to play a no turn limit game. So no objectives and no turn limit. A deathmatch essentially. It became apparent that, as I had gone ship focused, and my opponent had gone squadron focused, that his hero A-wing would become basically invulnerable should my squadrons be eliminated. We joked about it coming down to only that hero A-wing and a V2SD. Well of course that's what it came down to. I had the crew panic critical, 8/10 dmg (Admiral Motti) and no engineering orders cued. Thus I was doomed. But, had we been in a similar situation, I see a stalemate occurring:
A V2SD only able to make 1 atk per round due to the squadron only being able to be in one firing arc, and it's engineering able to repair any dmg received
+
The hero A-wing able to scatter once a round
=
Endless cycle? It seems to me that I must be missing something. Because there is no way a squad of A-wings could perpetually go toe to toe with a V2SD.
What am I missing/misinterpreting, how would you break this cycle?
