Homogeneous packaging across lines means the clamshell can be manufactured in greater volume and used as required for entire cycles, games etc.

I was sceptical as well, particularly as plastic packaging can be a pain to open. However, they open easily and can be resealed for storage if desired. Although I will miss the better art spread on the old cardboard packs.
