The Top 10 Starfighters

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in X-Wing

At Endor the Falcon is shown engaging, outmanoeuvring and chasing down TIE/INs. That suggests to me that from what is shown in RotJ the Falcon in X-Wing is working in line with the lore.

But, again, being about to outmaneuver a starfighter doesn't make your ship a starfighter.

The Falcon is a cargo ship. It's a very maneuverable and well armed cargo ship, but it's still a cargo ship.

Extensive mods have turned the Flacon into a gunship more than anything by ROTJ. Before then it was still possible to think of her as a modified freighter/transport mainly used for smuggling or blockade running. Never a starfighter (even if you include the heavy assault ships like ARC-170 as starfighters).

My point isn't that the Falcon is a starfighter. I was mostly responding to the comment that FFG had the Falcon wrong, but that wasn't clear until I edited it to include a quotations of the original post. My bad. I would call the Falcon a gunship by Endor, as has already been postulated in this thread. Anyway, to come back to the topic, I would have liked to see the TIE variants (ln, sa and IN) treated separately, some of the prequel ships dropped (the Naboo starfighter especially) and the A-Wing in the top three but it's a fun little vid.

You can tell they have never played X Wing

The game is called X Wing for a reason.

The big problem here is that it lumps the Tie variants all together.

The Actis Interceptor and the Aesthersprite should not both be in the same slot either.

Technically aren't the Jedi Starfighters TIEs too? (in the sense they have 2 Ion Engines not that they are part of the series) so they could have even merged those entries together

Different designers and different producers. I'm not sure if the Delta-7s had twin Ion Egines really but the Eta-2s might. I know in legends some of Sienar's engine design data was seized because he designed the engines for the Vulture class droid fighters and the seized data was given to Kuat who produced the Jedi fighters.
