One of my players is playing a pacifist character and he has his eyes set on the net gun from Enter the Unknown. While looking at it I saw that it had the ensnare 5 quality. Is two advantage still needed to activate this? The hand-thrown net from the CRB is theoretically just as hard to use and it wouldn't make much sense to use an expensive net gun when one could just use a net for the same difficulty. Normally I would just hand wave this but as a GM I don't like tweaking weapons by myself because of how broken they could potentially get.
Quick Question Regarding the Aranea Net Gun
It's the same Advantages. Net gun is Range(H) as opposed to (L) for the hand net. It's encumbrance 4 and doesn't have the limited ammo issue, so a PC has to think a little less about it. Longer Ensnare time, no Knockdown. Really a matter of fluff except for the skill used mostly.
