Hi guys,
As you already know, I am playing an Artisan currently, and I'm planning on wielding a dual-blade lightsaber when I can find a crystal.
The GM and I talked for a bit and I asked whether I could make an attachment from my own harvest to split the hilt in two parts and be able to wield a single saber. The intention was not to have 2 sabers, but to be able to conceal the hilt better.
The GM agreed, but we didn't talk about any particular rule. If I know him a bit, I'll have to come up with the rule and he'll approve it or discard it. So I thought I'd post it here and see what you think/suggest.
DETACHABLE HILT
A mechanism allows the wielder to push a hidden button/lever and split the hilt in two pieces, each resembling a basic lightsaber hilt.
One of the two pieces actually contains the kyber crystal, and can be used as a basic lightsabre.
Basic Modifiers: When used this way, the blade keeps all of the saber attachments and modifications, but loses the Link trait and one point of Encumbrance. Detaching/Ataching the hilt is a Maneuver.
Modification options: ?
Hard Points required: 1.
Price: 2000 credits.
So, what do you think? I thought the Unwieldy trait should be kept, to represent that the single hilt is not as balanced as a proper basic hilt (and the user will have Agility 3 anyway since he's using a double hilt). Any mod you think it could be added? Is it too good/bad?
