Hi guys, so i'm considering running an online squadron/gaming club based on a small group of Imperials and A: looking for people interested, B: looking for ideas on how to best run this.
Right now here's what I've got:
The 128th Recon wing, are a specialist group - all trained as Storm Commando's on Carida as well as having received Imperial Naval Academy training.
Assets: The Base ship for the wing is the Victory II class Star Destroyer Adjudicator
Command and control are ran from the VT-49 Decimator Retribution, or the Raider class Huntress. Occasionally from an as yet unnamed CR-92 corvette. - Obviously this depends on the mission/game system used. Boarding, re-arms and followup ground ops are handled by 4 DX9 Stormtrooper Transports, S&R handled by the Adjudicators 2 Lambda class shuttles.
The wing's current complement are: 12 XG-1 Assault gunboats from Steel wind squadron, split into 3 flight elements (Alpha, Beta, Gamma)
3 TIE Phantoms, as a single element "Shadow".
12 modified TIE Interceptors, with shields and decoy beams(stealth devices/autothrusters whatever) Designated Eclipse Squadron. This squadron handles superiority, CAP.
So so far it's campaign/narrative missions for XWM, but I'm also a veteran of TIEED and XVTED.
The question is, for space sim bits, what is the best bet - Co-op missions which can't be recorded but are co-op for XVTBOP or flight record to see how things go for TIE Fighter.
For the ground actions, what do I use for the recon missions? FPS/RPG/RTS - so far nearest thing I can modify is galactic battlegrounds, and I can't do nearly what I want to there.
It's worth noting that this is kinda RPG based, and if an asset such as a DX9 is recorded lost, then it won't be replaced immediately (or in certain situations - at all). Battles will be more skirmish and objective based rather than epic level. Recon not assault.
