Broken Items House Rule

By WWU343, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Just wondering how unbalanced this house rule could be. Had a big problem with the heroes equipment getting destroyed by the OL... freaking crushing blows. To counter this we said that any broken items would go into the heroes backpack (taking up one space). Upon visiting any market they could get the item repaired for half its cost.

The FAQ removes one Crushing Blow, so you can only ever add one.

This greatly reduces the incidence of Crushing Blow so that it is no longer an imbalancing problem, though still an annoying nuisance. If the OL i harrassing your heroes with Lts and using Crushing blow then fleeing then get Wind Pact and the problem is solved.

Crushing blow is a necessary part of the game once you hit gold. The Gold Magic items are simply ridiculous.

If you do use this rule, you should use (all/both) copies of Crushing Blow. It does make the game a little friendlier though. gran_risa.gif

In a game where by Gold all the heroes really nice equipment makes most dungeons and encounters a joke. They had to remove one because of the way LT encounters works, where an OL could get both and play them immediately instead of burning through ~40 cards to get to them.
