RtL rest questions

By WWU343, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Can a hero place a rest order on himself before going into a level portal; therefore getting fully rested on the next level of the dungeon?

What is the verdict on resting in town, it says in the FAQ that you can, but i wasnt sure if it was refering to the normal version of Descent and not RtL. Had a house rule that said that you could restock in the tavern for 25 coins refilling his fatigue (guy just needs a beer between the bloodshed every once and awhile).

Placing a Rest in the dungeon and going through the portal is perfectly legal.

While a hero is in town in RtL, he can never have a Rest order. If you are in town and declare an action rather than a restock, you HAVE to spend 1 MP to get back to the dungeon, otherwise your action is cancelled and you get a restock - see FAQ.

In normal Descent, resting in town is allowed as per the FAQ entry.

Parathion is quite correct and I was in error. See FAQ pg 10.
A hero who begins his turn in town has two options: Restock again (at the same or a different building) or return to the dungeon. If he returns to the dungeon, he declares a normal action (Battle, Ready, Advance, Run) and then must spend a movement point to move from town to the dungeon , just like normal. If he somehow can't do so (i.e. he Battled and had no fatigue left) then the entire action is canceled and the hero Restocks instead.

You think they would have a Restock option in the Temple: 0 Gold, Hero recovers all Fatigue.

I think I might houserule this...

What? Why? Making the heroes rest in dungeon at least gives the overlord the chance to nullify it (barring leadership, of course). Fatigue is the best resource heroes have at their disposal, and should not have another way to recover it. Especially for 0 gold.

Completely agree with SamVimes. Fatigue is powerful enough as it is.
