Hi! This is my first post on this forum
I'm getting addicted to more talisman expansions, and wonder what to invets in next!
What i have:
Reaper
Firelands
Dungeon
City
Highland
Deep realms
(will get woodland ASAP)
What i dont have:
Frostmarch
Nether Realms
Sacred pool
Blood moon (sceptical)
Dragon(dont want)
-I play with all expansions at the same time
-I already have enough adventure cards to not care too much for additional ones, since it will have minimal impact on the experience. The same goes for spells.
What im most interested in:
new characters that are interesting and different.
Fun Alternative endings, preferably hidden.
I will probably get Frost, sacred, and nether, but in what order?
Same old question: What expansion to buy next?
I am not going to persuade you on Bloodmoon, when I don't use 1/3 of the expansion myself. Nor on Dragons, so the question is which of the other 3 first.
Nether Realms is just an alternate ending, but it is a really fun one.
So Frostmarch or Sacred Pool?
Frostmarch is just more of the same and very similar to the base game expansion. And I actually bought my base game used but in new condition with Frostmarch mixed in, so it even blends in more for me.
I always recommend Sacred Pool to folks who don't have the city because you can buy horses and other "mounts" with that expansion without City, so it is similar to Frostmarch as more of the same of the basic base. But it does offer more pools to drink out of, which I also like as well as Quest Rewards. So I will still promote Sacred Pool before Frostmarch for you.
If you don't care for more Adventure Cards or Spells then only Nether Realm will appeal to you, from the list of ones you don't have.
Frostmarsh adds quest cards and sacred pool quest rewards. Apart from that you'll find more adventure cards, spells and characters. I usually recommend people to get these two expansions together early on but with all the other expanisons I can't really say what's better. Probably sacred pool since it adds more to the game. It also puts a new focus on neutral characters.
On a side note, I think you should try to use only a few expansions at the time. That was a real game changer for us.
shhh listen...here the wind outside? I can...it's...it's calling out to me.....I can here it loud and clear.....nether.....nether..............nether
Definitely get Nether Realms, if you play with all expansions it is a great addition, such a small expansion that can make ALL THE DIFFERENCE! If you like the idea of your strongest character getting killed by a Strength 2 outright just before entering the Portal of Power then this expansion is for you!!!
Buy the Dragon expansion if You want to get a super sexy Crown of Command token that You will be able to use whenever You want and however You want.
Thanks for the replies! I think will go sacred pool, nether, frost in that order! depending on if harbringer comes out before i buy them all
The stuff for neutral characters is something i really want to check out! I always saw neutral as a nerf on characters.
and i will definetly try playing with fewer expansions. im thinking firelands + highlands
Thanks for the advice
I find that playing with all four corners (or 3 in your case at the present time) is great!!! What my group like however, is just one card expansion (reaper, blood moon, etc) as otherwise the adventure deck gets far to large! But the Nether deck is always played (we homebrew rules for it quite a bit too) our group LOVE the Nether deck.
Also you should print out the digital characters also. The Gambler is my favourite, although all of them have their qualities. Check them out over at Talisman Island in the 'miniatures, digital edition, character packs
