Saga all the way.
They have a great level system that really shows where you stand in the grand theme of things. In what other game can you be as good as a 900 year old Jedi Master in just 20 easy levels.
They have talents and feats! Feats are great things that can really give that added boost that you need in the game. The have great talents like armor proficiency light, medium, and heavy. Because if you throw on a blast vest, it will reduce your ability to hit targets with a gun.
A great way to monitor and restrict group force users by using "force cards". This is a great way to ensure those pesky power gamers aren't abusing the Force by using it every round. You get so many cards per encounter! Or none if you didn't use the force power Feat to get some.
In Edge, you don't need an end goal in mind for your charcater. You can see where the adventures take you and build your character that way. This is unacceptable. You need to have that end goal in mind, and build your character from level 20 backward to level 1 to ensure that you can maximize your character. All talents, feats, and skills need to complement each to get the maximum synergy bounce you can. There is no room for deviation, or other growth, that can make the character less gooder. Ranges are not some made up "well, about this far" they are well defined and concrete. Square movement is great, because then I can lan out my Attacks of Oppertunity.
So in conclusion, I say you go for Saga, you already know the rules...well can anyone ever truly know them. If you make a mistake on a rule, you can ruin the whole game for the players, so make sure you have all the books at hand. Second guessing what you are doing is the best way to GM I have found. Forget this willy-nilly narrative system for the heavily defined and non forgiving Saga, because, the characters won't kill themselves.
Yes, this is written in sacasim font.
Whichever you choose, I'm sure you guys will have fiun though. Good luck. (Not sarcasim)
Edge of the Empire or Saga for my group

That's a great post. I got about half-way through it before I twigged. : )
You should drop the last line but one though, makes it less funny.
i had to google twigged....man I'm old.
The last line is not meant to be about suicide, I wrote (I tried anyway) in a tone that in Edge, it is hard for characters to get killed, but in D20 it seems like it is a lot easier to kill them, or at least to it seems that a lot of D20 GMs that I have known are out to kill you. I guess another to read the last line: Becuase if you don't kill your Characters, then who will?
Maybe I have been playing to much Arkham Knight, and can still hear The Joker talking to me....

I don't think it's an age thing. Just a British thing. I'm guessing that you're not from the UK if you don't know the phrase. (Though you could just be really old, I guess.

??? I meant the bit at the end of your post where you add the "Idiot Disclaimer" for those who didn't realize you were being funny. I always find it funnier when people dead-pan stuff straight, rather than break character with a knowing-wink to the audience. A suicide reference never crossed my mind...!
Ah, sorry, I wasn't quite sure what last line you were referring to. I then wrongly assumed you meant the last line of my large paragraph.
In my experience, I have found it better to state as a matter of fact of my intention to be sarcastic and joking when writing sarcastically on a forum. I have been guilty as trying to write that way, not mentioning it, and people taking issues with I have typed. In my head, when I type, I can hear my tone/inflections, my speed, stress on syllables, etc. When reading, you can't hear my speech, and read things in your tone. And if you are coming from a different website/forum/podcast/tv news, and are in a certain frame of mind, such as agitated, angry, happy, funny, you will then read things in that way. Many mistakes have been made by people (my self included), as reading things with a certain "type of voice", that has been incorrect. I know I have read satire/sarcastic things not realizing what it was, and I have posted satire/sarcastic things, and not letting people know, and then they in turn can get upset. So I just wanted to let people know the "tone" I was using when writing my post on this. It is meant to be read in a dramatic over the top type way, with a touch of condescension in it, but in a way that if spoken, you could tell the speaker was actually being faux serious.
And nope, not from the UK, from the US. I thought it was that dang gun whipper snapper made up words again. Get off my lawn!!!(U.S. Old man speak)
Also, in real life I am a total dead pan guy. I have that ultra-dry British wit/sense of humor. I was raised on Benny Hill and Monty Python and other British humor on PBS!
My poor Airmen could never tell when I was joking with them, which was always. I just learned how to tell really funny stories and jokes and never smile or laugh. it is very hard to get that same feeling in writing.

I’m 49, and I got it. But then, I lived overseas in Belgium for almost eight years, and I was brought up Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Are You Being Served, the abbreviated Benny Hill (PG-rated instead of R), and various other British TV shows.
In my experience, I have found it better to state as a matter of fact of my intention to be sarcastic and joking when writing sarcastically on a forum.
Yeah, regretfully that kind of sarcasm just doesn’t come across on a forum, and is likely to be gravely misinterpreted, unless you put the appropriate disclaimer on it.
The misinterpretation won’t happen all the time, but just one really bad incident is more than enough.
Sad, but true.
Yep, so if it ruined the humor for anyone...well tough luck. ![]()
i know I am guilty of posting things meant to be funny...and well...nope.
I have also read stuff here, and not "gotten" the joke. So I will now add my disclaimer of being in "sarcasm font" when I write that way.
I spent most of my overseas time in Germany, about 6 years. Man talk about different slang there, it was like I couldn't understand one word...
