300 pts Imperial Fleet C&C

By Glyder2180, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hello all,

I'm pretty new to Armada and would like some C&C on my Imperial list. I have the core set and one of each wave 1 expansion on hand right now. It's pretty straightforward with both the VSD and GSD working together to take out ships. The fighters are dedicated to screening and anti-squadron duties.

Victory II-class Star Destroyer

-Admiral Screed, Overload Pulse, H9 Turbolasers, Warlord

Gladiator I-class Star Destroyer

-Engine Techs, Assault Concussion Missiles, Demolisher

Howlrunner TIE Fighter Squadron

TIE Fighter Squadron x4

TIE Advanced Squadron x2

TIE Interceptor Squadron x1

Total: 299 points

Also any suggestions on what objective cards to take with this list would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

With more squadrons than you have commands, would it be worth dropping a TIE to get expanded hangars and/or flight controllers?

I've thought about that but really wanted to have my ships focus on anti-ship with the squadrons focusing on mopping up squadrons. The TIE advanced help buy them at least one turn before the rest of the TIEs will be attacked. I actually tested this out with my friend yesterday and it went really well. My fighter swarm basically tabled all but his 2 Y-wings and Wedge before we called it game. He was running a Corvette A (Jaina's Light), Corvette B (Dodonna's Pride), and a Neb-B Escort (Salvation) as his ships. He brought Wedge, 3 X-wings, 2 A-wings, and 2 Y-wings if I remember correctly. I ended up bringing him down to just his one Neb by turn 3 due in part to playing minefield objective and one of his ships being finished off by a lucky mine.

Objective cards: try Minefields, Advanced Gunnery, and perhaps Fleet Ambush.

You need your VSD and GSD to work in tandem to concentrate fire on a single target. Minefields helps shepherd targets to kill zones. Advanced Gunnery boosts your firepower (probably VSD). Defence objectives aren't great, but Fleet Ambush is the least worst for your list, I reckon.

Sounds good, thanks for the advice.
