X-wing repaint

By SonofaBith, in X-Wing

Hi all,

First attempt at painting x-wing miniatures. I had collected GW LOTR/Hobbit on and off for the last 14 years or so, but was never game focused. I'm really new to X-wing, and already I'm hooked on the gaming aspect. However it wasn't long until my brushes came a calling.

Simple enough weathering using glazes (Valejo & Citadel). Not entirely happy with the thrusters, but OSL wasn't my strong point. Snapped one of the pegs accidentaly though. C&C welcome

Not bad, which GW washes did you use?

Nice colors. A thinned wash might help your thruster OSL blend the engine glow a little better.

Nuln oil and a Vallejo umber (forget the name). Also did some edge highlights with he ultuhan grey mixed with a drop of the umber.

For the thrusters, I couldn't get the balance right with a wash. Might get some more vivid pinkish colour and try again.
