Which ship would you get two of?

By Corronjedi, in Star Wars: Armada

Between the neb b and the cr90 which do you think is more useful to have a duplicate of right now I'm leaning toward the neb b because I tend to fly squadron heavy list and the Yavaris title sounds like something I would benefit from every game. Also my wife plays imp ships between the gladiator and victory which is more useful to have a duplicate of. Right now we are leaning toward the victory just for the upgrade cards we don't have already

The Nebulon-B also gives you Intel Officer and XI7 Turbolasers

For the Rebellion, I would have to go with the Neb B. Though I am biased since I love the look and the feel of piloting one of them. (Corvette is way too quick for me with my current level of experience).

For the Empire, I would say get the Victory expansion since, if I am not mistaken, it has some upgrade cards that you can't get in any other packs. Which includes Admiral Motti if you want to play the health game.

Um... *sheepishly looks around* All of them?

Grand Total (so far)

Victory SD: 3

Gladiator SD: 2

Imperial Fighters: 3

AFM2: 2

CR90:2

Neb B: 2

Rebel Fighters: 2

Into the future I intend on getting ATLEAST Two of every Wave 2 ship. Though I probably will get 3 or 4 ISD's just for good measure. Yes, I know, Im a ship addict. Or just and Addict in general. I console myself with the fact that even with those additions I'VE STILL SPENT LESS on this game then WH40k.

If you have only 1 Neb - go get another :D

Neb for Rebs (for reasons mentioned) and Victory for Flight Controllers. O

That's what I was thinking would be the best I just wanted to see if everyone else agreed. Trust me if I could buy double everything I would but I gotta make the most of my money especially with the wife playing imp ships two lol

I am only beaten by the 2nd GSD and AFmk2. Well that and the fighter packs. . . Can't find any of those in my flgs's near my pay days

Yea I also want another fighter pack being limited to two a wings y wings and bwing is tough when building fleets

Buy enough ships to be able to use all the titles available for that ship in a single fleet. Get also at least two Imperial fighter packs just so you can have at least four TIE bombers to use with the Corrupter title.

can personally attest to 3 Nebs (core + 2 wave 1s) being a hilarious fun list

tough to get used to (very dependent on positioning relative to your assets and the opponent's), but devastating between Salvation, Yavaris, and some B-wings

I really like the Nebulon but the corvette is also useful. You get Mon Mothma which makes their defense tokens much more useful and a pair of them working in tandem can cause a lot of damage.

It also gives you Raymus Antilles who is very useful, as are the titles depending on the rest of you fleet. I like Tantive IV for working with Raymus to make a command ship (gives out tokens to my Nebulons) and Jaina's Light for allowing a ship to ignore obstructions.

If you're going squadron heavy though, the Nebulon makes more sense. Then get a corvette anyway.

I picked up an extra CR90 on ebay just the ship, no cards really cheap.

It's a good way to expand fleets on a budget after you buy the (mandatory) box with cards, if you are on a budget or are after several duplicates.

Rule of thumb for me... Any small ship that I buy always get a partner.... That's the minimum requirements

I'm right there with you man, and I actually have 1 more Neb, 2 more CR90's, and 1 more Rebel Fighter pack than you do :P

Plans for Wave 2: 3 ISD, 2 MC80, 3 MC30, 4 Raiders, 1 Rogues and Villains.

I think we should probably attend AAA together (Armada Admirals Anonymous), but who has time for that when there are fleets to command! :P

I'm really glad I'm not the only one thinking 3 ISDs and 4 raiders to 2 MC80s amd 3 MC30s. Seems like a good balance to me.

Anyway. I have to get a 3rd Neb-B myself. Those "exclusive" upgrade cards that come with it are worthwhile.

If you can only buy one more ship right now, then the right answer is not the "right" one, it's the one you enjoy the most! At this point, it's not like you're making make-it/break-it calls - 'cause it's just your first ship! Buy the one you love!

They're both such good expansions for Titles and Upgrades, it's very hard to justify not getting both. I originally picked up the NebB because I really love that tough little ship, and had to pick up the CR90 before leaving for the day. If you're running a list that has even one of each of those ships, you're really going to want both expansions is the problem with picking just one.

Let's say you're running one of each, odds are the NebB is going to be either Salvation and an X17 or Yavaris depending on if you're going shorty or fighter heavy with your list. Now you add in a CR90, and you're probably adding Tantive 4 as a title since it works so well in support with Leia or Capt Antilles, but you might decide you want your Corvette to be able to speed through obstacles to claim Objectives or to be able to hide behind your ships and take advantage of cover using Jania's Light as a title.

Bottom line, unless you're planning on running ships without titles or you're not planning on running both the Frigate and Vette, then you really need to pick up both as soon as it's possible.

I'm going to echo getting a second Neb B. And if you can get three ...even better. Intel Officer and the XI7 Turbolaser are great upgrades and get real fun when you put them on multiple ships

Got my third Nebulon on Tuesday from selling my acrylic tokens...I have a problem.

I just ended up buying a second neb, a second cr90 and another Vic star. I couldn't help my self lol

Since I'm going to my first tournament in a few weeks, I picked up a second Neb B and the second CR90. Hoping I can field a reasonable fleet with the core set, the fighters, and the extra small ships.

This is my collection, it's fairly easy to build either a four or three ship build, with Squadrons, that can stand up in a fight and give as well as it gets.

I would suggest giving one CR90 the Jania's Light title. It helps counter if you play versus Objectives like Dangerous Territory or Intel Sweep, or can hide behind the NebB firing line and toss Red dice through them without penalty.
