New use for Captain Jonus

Jonus 22

Adrenaline Rush 1

Extra Munitions 2

Conor Net 4

Add in the warhead of your choice.

Adrenaline Rush lets you lay a Net with the K-turn as well as the other maneuvers. Once you get your initial trap in, the second should be pretty easy.

Only if Jonus could use his own ability.

His ability doesn't matter in this case.. its about the EPT and dropping a Net for the opponent... Or on him if you can pull it off... I've though of this before with a prox mine.

Jonus is a bullet magnet. Best to keep him cheap.

I found he became less so when you give him Determination. Makes him discard all pilot-related damage cards and lett him keep his ability, actions, and PS.

Load some warheads on his fellow Bombers (3scimitaes should do nicely) and your opponent doesn't know where to fire first. Especially if you fly him in the back of the squad.

The Conner Net is alright, but will that move win you the game? It's very situational. I guess it depends on what else you have in your list. It also depends on what the rules are for Conner Net. So....you go through it. You get Ionized for next turn. You can't do an action this turn? Is that correct? You still need to know where they are going to be this turn to really take advantage of it.

I like the Conner Net, but it will be situational. It will be hard to get off at times.

Emon will love it if someone approaches him head on. He can do the bomb fling and throw it right in front of them.

Could you imagine if there was a guy you could fly in formation with Jonus who has white K turns and could benefit from Jonus pilot ability, then use a focus token for his own pilot ability? That would be a neat combo...if only someone like that existed

Besides the obvious, you could use Rhymer + AR for this :P

Will the Connor Net follow Prox mine rules? Does it go off immediately if you drop it on a ship? If they already have a dial down does the ion happen next turn? This stuff will make or break the upgrade.

That's the point of Adrenaline Rush. It gives you a "head on" option. I do think it could be a game winner against dual ship builds or single fatties + support. How often is it said that the main problem with Fat Turrets isn't the Turret, but the arc dodging? Now if you take out the Arc Dodging for two turns, on top of a couple automatic damage, and no actions for the Fatty, and the rest of your squad should have no trouble finishing the job.

I am assuming it does. If it doesn't. There are clearly many more problems.

;). My Rhymer idea with this was to use PTL. PTL is good on Rhymer (in as much as anything is good on Rhymer), so you could do a 3-turn, a barrel roll toward your target, and then drop the trap perpendicular to a head-on target. You've got a lot more lateral flexibility with this deployment. Obviously it's on Rhymer, so it's too expensive, and doesn't even use his horrifically overcosted ability, but it seems cool. TIE Bombers are the only Barrel Rolling, EPT equippable Bomb carriers.

PTL won't let you drop bombs with the extra action. You'd need Experimental Interface for that. You can put EI on a Scimitar. The low PS of a Scimitar is a better fit for Proximity Mines and the Conner Net anyways.

That's a good setup to get a bundle of cheap missile carriers finally have the time they need to set up a TL+focus stack, possibly melting a self bumping group of fighters with Assault Missiles, or just pounding on the hapless target with an opportunist equipped missile or torpedo ship (since the Conner Net will prevent the prey to get a token due to its action-less status).

Knowing all this, your opponent might fly suboptimally to prevent this scenario from happening. Either way, you kind of get an advantage.

Yea but that combo of someone flying through Jonus's Conner Net, then eating an HLC blast with 2 rerolls, and a focus token to flip all the damage cards face up sounds like one of those combos worth flying the list 10 times just to pull it off once

Hey, you're right, and with an awesome solution, thanks!

Yeah, that's the general idea. Jonus expands from dice enhancer to tactical enabler.

I'll agree wholeheartedly with this.
