Most Solid Scum Lists

By FiresprayAndPray, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi!

I'm fairly new and I wanted to know what are some solid scum lists to play? I know about Brobots and have seen some neat lists like Bounty Bros (Ig-88B and Boba) but I don't really know much about how people like to fly Scum. I am still having a hard time fitting my Scyks, Starviper, and Hwks into any lists, but I've had some decent success with my Headhunters, Firesprays, Y-wings, and Aggressors.

Any thoughts on lists you've used that have had reasonable success? I'm not necessarily looking for the most hyper efficient tournament lists but just something that could have a decent chance of not folding as soon as you take some hits and lose some ships.

I have seen a list that actually works well against triple autoceptors and BBBBZ, so they do instant damage a lot.

Your z-95s are practically suicide bombers and the starviper is there so that I case your z95s all get taken out, you still have a backup plan. You can get rid of one z95 for more upgrades on the starviper, or swap the starviper to a lesser point ship for upgrades on the z95s, or just run 6 z95s bombers for something crazy. Hope this helps!

Kath/Bobba is strong.

Xizor w/ Virago title, FCS, VI, ATs, and Dampeners with 5 Binary pilots is a very solid squad.

I use a Kath Scarlet and then Mux + Blaster Turret + Recon Spc +Moldy Crow, and two Pirates. The HWK and Z95 fly in formation and drop one ship to a 0 for combat. Then all three put the damage into that ship. So far it has worked well. It's major weakness is to high PS ships during movement. Those E-wings and Inceptors with PTL kill the list but I still get in damage..

I've seen Guri and 3 autoblaster turret Y-wings do very well. All those Y's are tankier than you think.

My current list I play is Boba Fett, Kavil, and an autoblaster Y. I'm still learning too buts it's a fine list so far.

A really good scum building block that I haven't seen mentioned here yet is the Ywing with Blaster Turret and the Agromech Droid. Spending your focus to activate blaster turret lets you get a free target lock with the Agromech. If you use the BTL title, you can modify your primary attack dice with focus (whether or not you roll any eyeballs) and activate your blaster turret off that focus AND target lock through the Agromech. You have to be careful about bumping because you're offensive capability goes way down if you can't focus. Some people use Ion Cannon Turrets instead or go with a combination of the two for some heavy-hitting control.

The problem with the blaster turret on a y-wing with the BTL-A4 title is not just blocking, but stress. And you get stressed when you k-turn making that build particularly poor at jousting. And the BLT-A4 y-wing is supposed to be a jouster....so yeah. Its not a good idea, really, because once the enemy is behind you, you're toast. The new Twin turret laser will be better (3 attacks @ R2-3) but also more expensive - 24 pts or 25 with an unhinged droid.
