2 Weapon fightings and double criticals ?

By JP_JP, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Can you pop up 2 different critical when going 2 weapon fighting ?

If you have 2 Lightsabers with Paired Weapons (1 adv to trigger off-hand), Superior and Curved hilt on both for a possible bonus of 4 advantages against a single target. If you can activate an off-hand hit, and still have a few advantages, what happens if you spend your advantages to trigger the crits from both your weapons ? Do you roll 2 crits or do you roll 1 and add 10 like you'd do with only one weapon ?

If you roll 2 crits, would you take out 2 minions against a minion group ?

I'm not sure how it would work since you can spend you advantages to trigger powers from each of your weapons seperately...

What do you guys think ?

Yes. You can apply a crit for every separate hit if you have the Advantages/Triumphs to do so. This applies for two weapon combat, auto fire, and linked attacks. You also would kill a separate minion per crit as well.

Sam has repeatedly said “No more than one crit per hit”. So, if you hit multiple times, you can get multiple crits.

So Hawkbat Swoop with Saber Swarm can do a ton of damage...

Let's say the character has Force Rating 3 and wields a crit 1, vicious 2 Lightsaber.

On a pretty lucky roll, he rolls 12 advantages... not likely but possible with the rights mods and a good roll....

So triggering a total of 4 hits and then 4 crits...

Crit 1 = roll +20

Crit 2 = roll +30

Crit 3 = roll +40

Crit 4 = roll +50

That is sick !!
But i'll probably stay with 2 weapons fighting with Dual Lightsabers :)

Thanks all :)

Thank you for the help!

By multiple crits they mean rolling more than once on the Critical Hits table. In your example you can spend advantages multiple times to add an additional +10 to the roll, but that still counts as one critical hit (one roll = one crit). However, the discussion involving multiple weapons/ auto-fire allows a character to hit their target more than once, thus allowing an additional roll on the critical hit table per hit. I used to get confused by the wording also, until I substituted "roll" for "crit" in the various phrases. If I missed anything folks let me know.

Thank you Corg for clarifying this for me. I was worried we were doing it wrong.
