Ain't nothin' wrong with some craft paint and standard brushes (it's all about application), and certainly no problems that I see on those A wings. Absolutely terrific work (I mentioned so on my thread too). The patterns are phenomenal, especially on Ice squadron. It reminds me of some of the John Blanche pattern work in Battlefleet Gothic. Couldn't agree more though, compared to how bright those cap ships are, unpainted squadrons just sort of lead to a 'huh' response. Zey cry out for ze colour!
I checked around, you've got some real good insight there mate. Painting wise, I'm liking those yellow streaked Tie Bombers you've got. Hazard stripe indeed!
Interested to see what else you got going too. Best of luck again!
A simple black wash will help to make them seem a little more worn. After the wash is dry, go back over the colors. Priming will help too. I like the cross hatching.
Thanks guys! I am planning on picking up a wash here soon as I think that'll really take my painting to the next level without too much expense ) Any tips on using it?
Where did you get the cheap paints and brush? I am also looking to do an extremely budget painting.
When I'm in the mood (ie broke) for Cheap paints and brushes, I hit WalMart.
That being said, I take a bit of time with my Acrylics from there... Generally, I pour them through pantyhose into another pot, just to filter out as many large clumps of pigment i can... Then I'm super-careful with how much water I add...
Yes, I totally overdo it.
