Counter list

Hi,

I'm looking for any advice on lists that you think would be effective as a counter to this list:-

Whisper with VI, ACD, FCS and rebel captive;

Soontir Fel with PTL, autothrusters and stealth device;

Mauler Mithel with VI and stealth.

I'm open to any suggestions or advice,

Depends on what you're comfortable flying.

A RAC Decimator with Vader and VI. Vader will ruin Fel and Mithel and the VI will give you shots at Whisper while uncloaked.

If going rebel, a Fat Han and maybe Lt Blount w/ Ion missiles (if you get Soontir in arc just once, he's screwed).

For Scum, maybe Palob and a bunch of Z-95s with feedback array. Also try a Kavil with Aggromech and Blaster Turret. You'll be rolling 4 dice w/ a TL on anything out of arc at range 1-2. 4 attack dice is harsh no matter what your defenses.

Ten numb with mangler and vi and an escort of whatever you want. Scum y wings with autoblaster turret, unhinged, and engine. Feedback array. If you can deal damage and ignore their evades and or arc dodging you will do pretty well.

Vader is great advice if you want to fly Imperials.

If you want to go Rebel, then I recommend Ten Numb with Mangler Cannon and VI. He goes on PS 10 and will have that crit get through to knock out the Stealth.

Nera Dantels with Flechette Torpedoes, Munitions Failsafe, and Tactician crew can cause a lot of stress in a 360 arc. If you can get in R2, then it makes these ships cry with the double stress.

Outrider with HLC and Gunner are also good, but I hate to recommend a Fat Turret.

Thinking after Wave 7, you can go with Horton Salm and Twin Laser Turret plus R3-A2. That will double stress a ship at R2-3 each turn. Oh, and you get to re-roll 2 dice with each shot meaning each shot will most likely be 3 hits (which then turns to 1, but hey...).

Patrol Leader w/ Gunner, Vader, Engine Upgrade (52)

4 Tie Fighters for blocking

Rebels:

Y wing w/ Stressbot, ICT (25)

Eaden Vrill w/ HLC, Rec Spec (42)

Jan Ors w/ ICT, Moldy Crow (33)

Scum:

Torkil Mux w/ ICT, Moldy Crow, Rec Spec, Hull (33)

Palob w/ ICT, Opportunist, Hull, Intel Agent (33)

Kavil w/ VI, Autoblaster Turret, EU, Unhinged (32)

Had fun with these Hawks in a build:

Palob + Moldy Crow Title + Outlaw Tech + Blaster Turret

Turkil + Recon Specialist + Blaster Turret

Get them within range 1-2 of one of the others, and let the fun begin. Turkil reduces the PS to zero, and Palob discourages them from using evade or focus as actions. I ran it with Kath scarlet + predator and engine upgrade, and had all sorts of fun this past weekend against players that were shooting for the high meta builds.

Kavil w/ Blaster Turret and R4 Aggro Mech should be fine enough. That's 4 dice with a free TL. Give him VI so he goes on PS 10 and give those aces some stress.

Gersun has the right idea. I flew Whisper/Soontir/2x Academy pilots for a regional and those were my most feared lists. And the strategy against the counterlists? Get them to split up. Worked every time because phantoms and interceptors are too fast for any of those other ships.

So if you're building to counter, the Scum is probably the most effective. Just don't drop formation for anything.

I like Torkil Mux and 3 Star Vipers. If you can catch one of them in arc, you're gonna mess up their day!

Torkhil Mux and anything else will hurt that Phantom. Pew pew!
