Question about the Redemption Title

By Darkblade113, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

So this interaction just occurred to me. Resolving a command doesn't apply to just the command dial, so wouldn't this mean Redemption's effect applies to engineering token use as well?

Redemption: "When a friendly ship at distance 1-5 resolves an Engineering command, it gains 1 additional engineering point."

If it does work like this, which it should to my understanding, it makes Redemption much more worthwhile than I previously thought! I don't think it would make a huge difference right now in my fleet building, but once we increase to 400 points, I see it being very valuable, especially when paired with the Wave 2 Mon Cal ships, AFII's, and Garm.

Thoughts?

When you use both a dial and a token at the same time it is a single resolution of the command, meaning the title triggers once.

So,

If you spend a repair dial to execute the command, you get +1 point for the title.

If you spend a repair token to execute the command, you get +1 point for the title.

If you spend both a repair dial and a repair token to execute the command, you get +1 point for the title because you are still only executing the command once.

If you spend both a repair dial and a repair token to execute the command, you get +1 point for the title because you are still only executing the command once.

Yeah, I knew even if it worked for tokens, it wouldn't stack to 2 extra points since combining a dial and token still only counts as resolving one command.

That's awesome though. I'd completely written off the title until now.

Tokens are still commands. So yes an engineering token from the redemption or other friendly ships would get a +1.

If combined with a dial the ability only adds a +1 since you are only activating the command once

Does the title work for itself too? I believe in Xwing you are a friendly ship to yourself, so unless it says "another friendly ship" you could use it on yourself, not sure if it is the same here.

Yup, ships and squadrons are friendly to themselves.

Look out for 'another friendly ship/squadron' these effects cannot be applied to the ship generating them.

cool, thanks.
