are you aloud to laminate your cards?

By Kimbo81, in Star Wars: Armada

I was going to buy the card sleeves from Fantasy Flight but I think that laminating them would be better. I'm just not sure if that laminating would tournament legal. Anyone out there know for sure?

I don't see why not. The tournament rules don't address the issue. I wouldn't laminate the damage deck, though. It would make it too thick and easy to knock over. I don't even sleeve mine for this reason. Also, slight variations in the size or cut of the laminate could open you up to accusations of "marked" cards. But as long as you stick to ship and upgrade cards you should be ok.

Wait, the cards arnt already laminated?

They felt plastic to me, not card stock or magic card like.

Selves work just as well. Some scotch tape and they are sealed.

AND I SLEVE MY CARDS VERY LOUD!!!!!

It's not a birth certificate so I can't see why not?

I have never been a grammar Nazi, but aloud and allowed? Seriously, trying to maintain a civilization here.

Mine's laminated. :)

As long as the card is not being used in a random manner such as those in the damage deck, it should be fine.

Spelling Nazi, actually.

My wife asked if his cards are noisy?

Or:

"WHAT I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER HIS TARKIN AND ADVANCED GUNNERY UPGRADES. THAT VICTORY STAR DESTROYER IS PARTICULARLY LOUD TOO." :D

A VSD with hippy tie-die paint job could be said to be particularly loud ;)

Actually, they do.

COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS (PG 4.)

• Cards must remain unaltered, though they may be sleeved for protection. Sleeves for Damage cards must be identical and unaltered.

Unless you are counting Lamination as Permanent Sleeving. Which is possible, I guess.
