Salvation is over powered

Dodonna is going to get the Salvation killed sooner. It means your evades can't work against the Demolisher

You don't take Dodonna just for Salvation.

I find he is the best commander for Nebulons because if you are running 1-2 Nebulons, you want to be running B-Wings, and if you are running B-Wings, Dodonna brings them from "pretty **** bad" to "OH MY GOD THERE IS BLOOD EVERYWHERE" on the violence scale when opposing ships try to get close to your Nebulons.

It's not about the direct impact on the ship itself (although with Salvation, that is good), but rather what the rest of a successful fleet around that ship will look like.

I have yet to come up with a list that works well with Nebulons that isn't either heavy on escort fighters (b-wings and Luke) and/or simply a 5+ ship spam list. In the former, Dodonna brings far and away the most synergy, and in the latter, it's Mon Mothma.

Yes I love my B-Wings on this game. I try to fit them in on every list I create

That's all fine and well, but a competent Imperial player has Salvation off the board by around turn 3.

and a competent rebel player will have the imperials balls for it etc. (salvation is easily cheaper than the demolisher)

the "competent" player argument holds no water on the forums, because that's strategy on the table-top dependent entirely on the players involved; not in any imagined absolutes.

And that is the beauty of the Salvation. It keeps your opponents attention while your other ships stick a knife in their backs. A good player doesn't just play their fleet, they play their opponent.

Had a game tonight using the Salvation, I shot into the side of a shieldless VSD with a concentrate fire command and rolled 4 natural crits on dice,

8 Damage, first one a crit. Bye bye VSD

I lost the game but that was the first time I had managed to get a VSD off the board. Really pleased! :D
