GenCon 2015 skirmish

By AussieJedi, in Imperial Assault Organized Play

Hey everyone.

Do we know if there is any chance of maps being supplied for the main skirmish tournament this year at Gen Con? It would be a relief to not have to bring my maps tiles for the event from all the way from Canada. Obviously we have to bring our minis and the tournament rules in the event on gen con registration state that everything must be supplied, but one can hope that FFG may help is a little.

I was going to ask the same question. Do we know what the Legal Maps and Missions will be? Is it the same as the Tournament rules (v1.0.1) effective March 1?

I am pretty sure you will have to bring your tiles with you.

From the league kit.

With three four-month seasons each year (Spring:March 1, Summer, and Winter), players can find a large variety of tournaments, game nights, and leagues at their local stores. Seasonal events are a place for newer players to experience organized tournaments and experienced players to try a new army or strategy

This was posted on twitter today from FFG OP

Imperial Assault FAQ and tournament rules are coming, but to give players time to prepare for Gen Con (and other events), we are announcing the legal skirmish maps today. Please spread the word!
Legal skirmish maps starting July 29th will be: Moisture Farm, Kuat Space Yards, and Ord Mantell Junkyard

Are these maps just for GenCon or for Worlds as well?

July 29th is when they are legal.

Season 1 was from March to June/July.

Season 2 is from July to Oct

Have they spoiled what promo will be available at Nationals?

Han was the card for the UK national event so I would think it would be the same for the US.

Did anyone psot the art for the Han card?

Did anyone post the art for the Han card?

Here's the word from FFG about printed maps:

Ron:

Thank you for your email. Printed maps are not official components and therefore are not allowed to be used at Competitive or Premier level events. This includes the tournaments at Gen Con and the FFG World Championships.

Players are expected to bring all needed components with them to the tournament including map tiles. I recommend that players organized their tiles to be able to build the separate legal maps before the event they wish to participate in.

Best!
