You would agree that blast is english?
Of course.
Are you going to tell me that German doesn't have a word for an explosion though?

apparently the german word for explosion is explosion, ditto for blast which would be a synonim
so I guess the approximation of a german Blaster would be an Explosion Werfer (it werfs explosions!)

Of course. But if you apply the concept of a 'blaster' in german language it would sould similar silly like Exploder. Would exploding gun be better? Iguess not. You would need to use something like 'Gun to make explosions' ... but this way it keeps getting even more sounding stupid.

Haha ja ... Explosionswerfer ... no that still sounds pretty crappy. Trust me.
Well, I assumed Blaster was meant to mean "A thing that blasts" as opposed to "A thing that creates blasts", so I would start with a verb.
Sprengen is Germen for "blow, blow up, blast, burst, sprinkle, explode".
So a better translation for "blaster" would probably be "sprengener".

Sprengstrahler ... would probably the best german term for blaster.
It would translate back to 'Blasting Ray Gun'
Actually ... you could use 'Sprenger', and it would feel as artificial like blaster for english native speakers, perhaps..
But there are no Sprenger nor Sprengstrahler nor Explosionswerfer in the movies.
In X-Wing, 'Blaster' is not translated in the german version upgrade cards. And this is a good thing.

I definitely see the explosionwerfer being the BFG of guns rather than a more common-place sci-fii thing ![]()
**** just screams testosterone

The topic is off-topic itself.

Cool ... but don't forget the 's' between explosion and werfer ![]()
