Thanks to those on this and Board Game Geek for inspiration.

I decided to go with standing slots for minis to maximize in box storage (except for At-STs).

Foam core is pretty easy to deal with, especially with Foam Werks tools. Anyways, I'll post more once I add more layers, etc.
