Then why do you own six? Not being snarky, but it's an oddly specific number - you can run 5 Mangler Scyks at best, for instance.

Well I originally thought I could run 6 naked like a pesky little swarm. But... they fall flat. Get squished like bugs. I can see using 1 or 2 tops atm with certain builds. The 5 HLC build is a one trick pony that seldom works well really.

I guess in epic like a 250 or 300 point build the 6 with HLC might be fun. That's honestly about it. They have no place in anything other than a screwing around list. Certainly never going to see any real tournament use.

It's more accurate to think of it as two points in general - one too many for the ship, one too many for the title itself.

(I'm willing to accept they should be 13pts over 12, because they are better than a TIE fighter... even if not by a huge amount.)

I do believe there have been one or two cases of someone using Serrisu and getting to Top 8 at Regionals. So, that's not true.

I really think that the ship is not good as a swarm. You don't want a lot of these things around. I think they are a different version of a cheap ship. Once the new Scum fighter comes out, I think throwing in a couple of these instead of Z-95's will be better. They have great maneuver dials and shine when they are not focused on. Right now there isn't any good companion to them that takes away the attention.

Serrissu is good with a couple of elites. Her ability doesn't work when you have a swarm. It works when you have one or two better elites you want to protect.

Laetin works when you have better options to fire at. He could work in a Z-95 swarm, for example. I do think he would work better with a number of those new Scum fighters, though.

Im my last tournament a guy came up with three Scyks with HLC and a StarViper.

It didn't went very well for him. Its too green dice dependent. You can win a game or two. But thats it.
