Jendon's Friends.

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I have 4 bombers. I love tie bombers. But it's hard to make them work right now. Might be easier after wave 7 is out but I don't wanna wait that long lol.

Jendon + ST-321 + Fleet Officer

Scimitar Sqdrn x3.

What upgrades would best flesh this out?

Squeezing Jonus in there might help.

Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber 16
Concussion Missiles 4
Ship Total: 20

Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber 16
Proton Rockets 3
Ship Total: 19

Captain Jonus — TIE Bomber 22
Squad Leader 2
Seismic Charges 2
Ship Total: 26

Colonel Jendon — Lambda-Class Shuttle 26
Fleet Officer 3
Weapons Engineer 3
ST-321 3
Ship Total: 35

Maybe?

really just 3 bombers and Jendon with Title and fleet officer is what I need to include... Not sure if Jonus is needed here.

Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber 16
Proton Torpedoes 4
Concussion Missiles 4
Ship Total: 24

Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber 16
Cluster Missiles 4
Ion Pulse Missiles 3
Munitions Failsafe 1
Ship Total: 24

Captain Jonus — TIE Bomber 22
Squad Leader 2
Ship Total: 24

Omicron Group Pilot — Lambda-Class Shuttle 21
"Mangler" Cannon 4
Fleet Officer 3
Ship Total: 28

Another option. Gah. Ok i'm done with this for now. What ideas do you guys have?

Why do you want to combine Fleet Officer with Jendon? Jendon has only one action per round, so it's likely, that you can't do both. I'd suggest dropping the Fleet Officer, because Tie Bombers are perfectly capable of producing focus tokens themselves, but struggle taking target locks on higher pilot skill ships.

If you really want to use Fleet Officer and still hand out target locks, then take Weapons Engineer and/or Fire Control System. Both of them work individually to enable you to use Fleet Officer, but combined they allow to take one lock onto the defender and one onto an enemy of your choice.

If you really want to use Jonus, my suggestion would be trying this list:

Jendon + Jonus + 2x Scimitar

Concussion Missiles are the best choice on the Scimitars, because you'll be able to get a focus token. Cluster Missiles don't work well with Focus. Jonus uses Homing Missiles, because his reroll ability doesn't work on himself and Homing Missiles let you keep your target lock. Weapons Engineer allows Jendon to keep a lock for himself. Alternatively, replace Homing Missiles with Concussion Missiles and use a Fire-Control System on Jendon.

Otherwise, the list from this battle report looks awesome:

Bombing at first Regionals

Oh yeah. I forgot that FO would use up the action of taking a TL on Jendon. Hmm Hmm. I'm leaning more towards the list with just the OGP right now since hopefully Jonus's squad leader will help the bombers get their Locks

Try this...

TIE Bombers Squadron

99 points

PILOTS

Major Rhymer (43)
TIE Bomber (26), Advanced Proton Torpedoes (6), Proton Torpedoes (4), Cluster Missiles (4), Push the Limit (3)

Captain Jonus (32)
TIE Bomber (22), Proton Torpedoes (4), Cluster Missiles (4), Swarm Tactics (2)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (24)
TIE Bomber (16), Proton Torpedoes (4), Cluster Missiles (4)

Approach slowly.

At range 3 Rhymer shoots some Cluster Missiles (push the limit will let him use focus & lock on) while Jonus and Scimitar fire their cannons as their target lock on someone else. Hopefully this might be enough to send an enemy ship to oblivion (that's 10 red rolls on the same target), try to choose a squishy target if you have the opportunity. You really want to make a kill now.

As soon as you get to range 2 you can unleash the full fury of your bombing squadron on your opponent's best piece - be it a Falcon, an Aggressor, a Decimator. Rhymer can use his advanced torps, while Jonus and Scimitar can use their cluster missiles. That's 17 red rolls, every each of them has focus, and you can reroll a couple of blanks tanks to Jonus.

That's gonna hurt.

From now on, however, things are going to get tricky: it's manouver time, and your bombers aren't great dogfighters. Split your squadron, so that Rhymer has Jonus in his sights and vice-versa. You are probably going to loose a ship now (rhymer being alone and most dangerous is an obvious target) but Jonus and his wingman should be able to exact vengeance on whoever is going after him with their last torpedoes. You won't be able to use focus now, but torps don't need it.

Happy flying!

Mara cloaks, and tries to block the enemy movement with her Activation PS0, recloaking every turn she needs to decloak to get in the way. Even if she just gets close, Mara's aura shuts down PTL and non-green maneuvers. The other phantom slow-rolls behind the bombers, sitting under cloak as the Officer of the Fleet gives the bombers focuses every round.

Jendon, title, Ion Cannon = 32

Jonus, Seismic Charge, Concussion Missile = 26

Scimitar, Cluster Missile = 20

Scimitar, Cluster Missile = 20

Just brainstorming.

Just spent the dy of casual play. Jones and three Scimitar Squadron pilots with a pair of concussion missiles each except for an ion and a proket to duck under 100 points.

Against B-wings with hawk support: Leveled.

Decimator/Soonter: Decimator was cooked in two rounds. Soonter took a while (I k-turned one of the bombers off the table)

Y wing/firespray list: toast and only lost 1 ship.

4 A-wings: one-shot two of them. The others died quickly.

I am beginning to think I need to develop this list further, especially with the extra munitions upgrade out soon.

Jonus + 3x Scimitar

Each Scimitar has 2x Cluster Missiles and an Extra Munitions.

4 rounds of massed Jonus-boosted Cluster fire before running out. 100 points.

Ouchiwawa.

Also, learn how to use that 5-K, so this doesn't happen, lol.

I have been playing too many Z95's and A wings lately.

Any are too many :)

JK, one's the cheapest missile platform, and the other's the best vector for Prockets, so I'm fond of alpha-ing either.

All my competitive lists are A wings or Z's. I have been trying in vain to pull together a scum list, but have not found something that works well, consistently, across all likely opponents. This is my first foray into imperials.
