How's that look?

How about this setup for Dutch instead?

"Dutch" Vander (23)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
R5-K6 (2)
You can add his torpedo to the alpha strike, plus he has a chance of reacquiring the target lock with R5-K6 meaning he can hand off another TL afterwards.

Dutch goes so amazingly well with R7-T1 I'd be loathe to consider anything else in the astromech slot, personally. Also, I feel like R2D2 in particular will be hamstrung given the lack of diverse greens on the Y Wing dial (1 and 2 straight only).

R2-D2 is fairly poor on a Y-Wing; you've only got 2 maneuvers to regenerate those shields, and with only 1 agility, you're losing quite a few of them at a time.

With "Dutch" and the BTL-A4 title, the otherwise terrible R5-K6 is actually fairly astonishing. Math as follows.

"Dutch", on his own, provides 2 TLs for the fleet.

R5-K6 provides a 3/8 chance of +2 TLs, one used with the BTL-A4 attack

R5-K6 provides a 3/8 chance of +2 TLs IF the former chance was successful.

Chance of exactly 6 TLs produced: 3/8 of 3/8 (9/64)

Chance of exactly 4 TLs produced: 3/8 - 9/64

Chance of exactly 2 TLs produced: 1/1 - 3/8

Expected TLs produced = 2(1/1 - 3/8) + 4(3/8 - 9/64) + 6(9/64)

-Dutch without Combo, so we can evaluate the benefit of R5-K6 on its own (2(1/1 - 3/8) + 4(3/8 - 9/64) + 6(9/64) -2

= 1.03125 action-equivalencies per round added to your fleet, just from R5-K6 and BTL-A4.

For the record, there is no combo that has a lower Action-Boost to Cost ratio.

FCS on a ship that can take it comes closest, but:

  • FCS is expected to deal fewer .03125 'actions' per round
  • FCS loses that 'action' on rounds in which you do not have a shot
  • FCS loses that 'action' on rounds in which you kill the target,
  • FCS doesn't offer the full benefit of the 'action' (as you do not choose your target), therefore offering slightly less than a full 'action'
