In all the gencon talk, no one is asking this.

By Silver leader, in X-Wing

I bought one Aces pack and one Interceptor, and I already have too many Interceptors as a result, because they only gave you 2x RGPs. The Rebel Aces, meanwhile, handed out 3x Refits and a pair of each title for A-wings and B-wings. If you want to fly mono-builds, you still need to buy two packs... but for a 'one of each', you've got enough.

I sure know which style of Aces pack I prefer.

My pick: An X-wing and either a Y-wing (For thematics) or an E-wing (For balance tweaks, though it'd need to deal with Corran somehow...).

For Imperials, a Defender and a Bomber - in addition to whatever fix they throw in for Defenders, hopefully they'd include a couple more Extra Munitions card+token sets, and another shot at pilots for those two ships would be fun.

Well, you could argue that's a failure to put the right number of cards in the pack, not a failure to put the right kinds of ships in a pack.

What if I just plain don't WANT the other ship in the aces pack at all? It's more of that "Forcing me to by ships I don't want, to get upgrade cards I need for the ships I do" that I hate about this game.

It sucks that they're trying to get my to buy a $100 Epic ship just to make TIE Advanced playable. But on the other hand, at least it gives you enough of the must-have upgrade cards to outfit FOUR TIE Advanced, instead of just the one that comes with the raider.

Imperial Aces should have done something similar. Added more of those must-have upgrade cards than there were actual ships in the set.

All this talk of Episode 7 movie tie-in ships. Does that mean they'll be announcing a 4th and 5th faction?

tbh that would make episode 7 amazing if there was a new faction that appeared

They could release an Episode VII aces pack with "new" X-wing (with compatible updates to the "old" x-wing) and "new" Falcon (different dish & new pilots). Both of these ships have been spoiled in teasers and previews for the movie. And just what everyone wants, more PWT pancakes... :P .

Not necessarily. The two factions talked about for the movie can be seen as extensions of what's in the films.

They've already done this with the E-Wing and K-Wing which are both New Republic ships, not Alliance to Restore the Republic ships.

Nah think of it as them doing Jedie & Sith specificships. They do that now technicalley of course, but I am not talking about Vader or luke in stock ships mind you...

I wouldn't be surprised if they announced the next wave to include the Ghost & other SW: Rebels ships. Rebels fits the timeline of X-wing better than Ep VII, and as mentioned, Ep VII teasers will probably start a bit later this year.

The Wild Karrde would be awesome

See I am quite the opposite, I typically have enough of each ship for “1 ship type” 100 point lists, I would be willing to buy a X & Y aces pack even though I don’t need another X-Wing however it would be kinda annoying to have to buy X-Wing 5 & 6 just for the pilots.

I'm all for different ship aces packs

Not me. I like having an even number of most ships. So a package that gives me an odd number of two different ships is annoying. Especially if the pilots are must-have.

Imperial Aces 2: new pilots and options for the Tie Fighter/Phantom.

No thanks. Between Core and the TIE Fighter expansion, the last thing the game needs is more TIE Fighter pilots.

That was the joke: an aces pack for the 2 best Imperial fighters in the game.

My bet is that FFG is ready to announce a new Huge ship, but will hold off until the Raider is in stores.

Imperial Aces didn't have any autoinclude cards.

Imp aces included push the limit in an imperial expansion. Before that it was only available in the a-wing, and PtL is pretty close to auto include for interceptors.
