I had an opponent pull 4 direct hits in a row.
What's the best worst thing that's happened to you (or an opponent)?
1st game of a Store Championship, 1st attack of the game:
I attacked Dark Curse with 3Bs at range 1. No modifiers, ok, but i could not put a single damage on that Cursed Tie.
The good part is that i still won that game and got 2nd place in the end (but DC survived the game)
IG-88B with Predator, HLC, and Focus, firing at a defenceless Decimator.
No damage. On ten dice, against AGI 0. Two rounds later with the same dice? One damage.
C'mon, I shouldn't need Gunner'd HLCs to deal damage on Decimators!
How to waste all your luck: roll 4 natural criticals.
With a Heavy Laser Cannon.
Shooting at Chewbacca.
Last week I had a viper following my x wing, it received a crit where you get damage every time you overlap someone.... 3 turns later he was dead from this crit. Then to top it off he announced he had a dead mans switch which hurt me and his other ship... He still went on to win by the narrowest of margins but it was definitely the closest and probably most fun game we've both had.
I had a guy shoot at my 1-hull Bwing with a firespray at range 1 and fail to kill it. He spent a target lock too. I know you're thinking I just had awesome green dice but no. He rolled 0 hits on 8 dice.
...
That's just a normal game for me.
On one side of the board I had 3 Z-95's jousting with a loaded Soontir. Soontir passed all but one of the Z's and turtles up. Z gets one crit through: Damaged Sensor Array; You cannot perform the actions listed in your action bar.
Soontir died next turn.
First real game in a tourney setting.
Im flying loaded Whisper with Fel-PTL and a couple APs.
My opponent is flying Wedge, Luke+R2 and a Bwing. I forget the builds.
Fel and Wedge go into a joust mid field. Fell is left with 1 hull but takes out Wedge on a lucky shot with the K turn.
Whisper and the TIES take out the Bwing in turn 2 whil eLuke is skirting the edge,
I rolled 29 blank reds over the course of the next 2 turns chasing Luke down.
Luke downs Fel, and 1 of the APs taking his shields down. In the joust with Whisper I take his shields and all but one of his hull. Whisper goes down leaving me with 1 AP.
In 3 jousts I get one hit each turn, just enough to keep his shields down with R2. At range one he gets the shot off in a head to head landing one on my hull. I hit 2 crits against his and he went full blanks.
Against Rogue squadron, the Jedi was taken down by the luckiest Academy Pilot ever..
Final 4 at a store championship:
My opponent accidentally hits a rock with whisper, rolls blank. Then to move off the rock next round, rolls a crit, direct damage. Dead. (whisper only had hull left)
That pushes me into the final table and eventually a world first bro-bots tourney win! Woo!

Top 4 match. My opponent has Boba Fett to 1 hull. He blocks me with a Bandit, then K-turns Wedge behind Boba for a R2 shot with a Target Lock from a previous turn. Wedge only gets one hit result, Boba evades, and next turn lands Direct Hits on both Wedge and the Bandit from his Proton Bomb.
Next match, opening attack volley of the match. I had boosted Boba into R2 of Chiraneau, and R3 through a rock from Soontir. Opponent gets 3 crits with Soontir, I get one evade out of four dice, and Boba loses two shields. Chiraneau attacks, and gets another three crits against zero evades. I lose two more shields and take a Direct Hit. Chiraneau was carrying Vader, so he uses that to deal another Direct Hit. It was a total of 8 damage taken off six dice.
IG-88 at range 3 with Authothrusters and one hull left being shot at range 3 by a Y-Wing. one hit from the Y-Wing, 4 eyeballs for the assassin. Must've gotten something jammed in the thrusters!
One time I played 3x Dagger Squadron, 3x FCS, 3x HLC. Or maybe I replaced one with Nera and some ordnance, I forgot the exact build.
The whole game I rolled hit focus blank blank. When I would spend a target lock it wouldn't add any hits to the results. At the end of the game no one had killed anything and it was a draw. Damage had been distributed well enough across all of our B Wings and we rolled low enough to not kill anything.
After a long time flying Rebels I flew Imperials against Scum in a casual 100 pt game. My opponent took out all of my ships except Vader. At this point I'd damaged most of his ships but hadn't destroyed any.
Vader then went around the board and took out his Star Viper, Y-wing and a Headhunter and left his last Headhunter without shields.
I promptly flew Vader onto an asteroid and lost my last hull point.
That game took just over 2 hours.

The best "bad" thing to happen to me was in my last game in an IG I completely misguessed my opponent and S-Turned. If it had gone right, i would have ended stressed and not on target and facing 180 the wrong way. Instead I bumped and couldnt complete the flip around, but ended up in a better position (although stressed) but facing the right direction.
Fel range one on Leebo with outrider and HLC. I get a crit though, Munitions Failure he gets. Shoots Fel and kills him …
I once rolled nine hits and three crits over the course of three attacks. No focus tokens needed, those were just how the dice landed.
I know a guy who once flew Corran over two rocks in one move, and died because they both did damage to him.
Hmmmmmmm....
Me: Rolling with two INTs and a Firespray, opponent is running a humble Mangler Scyk swarm. Easy fight, right? Not when, throughout the entire game, do you successfully roll an actual evade on your dice. Even when I had a Focus available, I'd typiically blank out. Evade tokens can only do so much when you're dropping three blanks with both INTs every turn...
Opponent: Guy had a Decimator, TIE Fighter, and Whisper. TIE Fighter I one-shotted by my Mando Merc's HLC, Whisper and the Decimator (Kenkirk, I believe) died on the same turn as both of them landed on a rock and proceeded to draw Direct Hit!s. Sure, I would've won anyways, but he probably could've at least gotten a kill on Kath Scarlet had either of his ships lived long enough to shoot at her. Funny thing? He lost Whisper the exact same way earlier in the tournament. Twice in one tournament, he barely landed on a rock and had Whisper get critted off the board... poor bastard.
I still remember the day I took out my brand new Phantom. "4 defense dice, man I'll never get hit!"
First turn of shooting, my opponent rolls hit, hit, crit, I roll 4 blanks, draw a direct hit.
I seem to always draw the clutch direct hit. I know there's 7 in the deck but come on! Every time I'm at 2 hull and I get a crit I know I've lost lol
Tonight was the best and worse. The best was 4B's taking out Oicunn. 20 dice rolled 18 hits and no damage to the B's. His 5 dice attack at range 1? All blanks. 4 dice at range 3? All blanks. Knocked out DC and an Interceptor losing only one B.
The worst was the same pairing. I fell for an interceptor feint, split my forces and got beat to death. For every hit I rolled he rolled an equal number of evades. Ended up taking out DC and the interceptor and leaving a fairly healthy Oicunn on the board.
Was playing a friendly 3v3 Furball... only ships remaining were Keyan with 1 hull (me) and Porkins with 1 hull (allied friend) against Soontir.
It was my friend's first game of X-wing ever, so I told him our only hope was to fly unpredictably...
Revealed dials... we didn't compare dials this particular round. One after another, we both crashed into the same asteroid and rolled hits.
Game over.
Body blocked a Dash off the board with robots running expert handling, after being jestfully mocked for the upgrade choice, and not realizing the block was there for a turn.
In another very odd game we 'glitched'. Four ties were stuck rammed in to a falcon that couldn't complete the only move that would keep it on board. And since it had a cockpit fire it just burned slowly.
In a 200 point team tournament it was down to my generic Y with an autoblaster against loaded scum Kath. The autoblaster was too much for her to handle.
Last week-end had howlrunner shooting at determination Leebo range 1 on 4 hull, last shot of the game.
hit, hit, crit
leebo wiffs defense roll, draws 2 crits : double direct hit...
in a store championship my friend was against I guy who I previously played I lost a single tie he lost a b x and two a wings, my friend rolled blanks on every single defence roll and the other guy rolled crits with every roll.
First time out with a Star Viper. A fully loaded Guri gets into a great flanking position, only one of the enemy ships has her in arc and through a 'roid. The three reds come up two crits, one hit. Greens are a washout. Guri is one-shotted with two direct hits drawn.
Haven't flown a Star Viper since.
