I think the Gozanti should have a high Squadron value and low values on everything else. That way it will work in a very original way in relationship with the fighters.
It wont be a great ship to have against other starships on its own, its a ship that works as a command ship for starfighters. You will go around the board with 3 fighters and the Gozanti, the fighters will be enhanced thanks to the cheap Squadron commands, but the fighters will need to protect the Gozanti to ensure they still have that ability.
Looking at Gozanti, it's more like those CAM ships used by the British prior to the onset of CVE.
So I'm more inclined to average to mediocre squadron values.
Honestly, the ship is too small to have a high squadron value. If it were in X-Wing it might be a different story... MAYBE a 2 at best, but it only carries 4 TIEs!
$250!? The Lego Star Destroyer is less than half that!
For that price, you can get four of Mel's X-Wing Gozanti's and a sandwich and a beer!
Rabble rabble rabble!
^^^ I had to take a screenshot of your post XD.
Anyways, more serious stuff:
I could see the gozanti being on a fighter base with lots of health, or on a small ship base with a fighter stand. (2-3 models on a small ship base).
If it was a "fighter", then I could see it being a "support craft" with heavy, grit, and rouge. That way, it can activate itself, move through stuff, and not tie down stuff. It was a freighter, and didn't really dogfight (lol, "don't worry, I know a few maneuvers!" *drifts lazily to the left*).
It has a turret, and i would give it "counter 1", an anti-fighter value of 2 blue, and an anti-ship of 1 blue. Or black.
Escort might be an interesting mechanic, but i dismissed it, as the TIE's often escorted it, not the other way around. BUT, it would have some keyword that allows you to activate a friendly fighter squadron upon its activation. You could essentially carry your TIE's around with you at the outskirts of the battlefield. Maybe the generic also comes with 1 brace token? Depends on what rouges and villians has to offer.
Now, on the flip side:
A "ship" gozanti swarm would be cool. 1 shield all around (in a 1/1/1 setup, or a 2/1/0 setup) with 1 blue AA dice. It would have an "Evade" and "Scatter" defensive token (just 2, like fighters), and only 1 or 2 dice in each arc. (Maybe something like: UU/U/U or RU/R/U or RU/U/U? R=red, U=blue, B=black).
As for commands, I can see 2 squadron value being reasonable. Depending on how we want to cost this swarm, the command stats would be something like 1/2/1, or 2/2/2. Its up in the air for me at the moment.
Wow, lots of typing on my phone... What do y'all think?
Edited by Corellian CorvetteWhat serious stuff?
Back to Gozanti squadron values, I think 1 should be suffice since it's more of a CAM ship.
Unless you create a Gozanti variant that's use to coordinate air groups. But than again, would the Empire waste resources on such a ship where it can just cram their command and control for snubs onboard say a GSD?
I edited my post, hit enter on my phone instead of return.
Im focusing more on interesting gameplay. And having this ship have high Squadron Value would make a very interesting style of ship, one that is the head of several fighters. At least in Star Wars Rebels it works as the fast and cheap support for fighters.
The problem with this game is that if you make each ship stats based on the ship size (the bigger, the more command points, t he more hull points and the more attack dice) it becomes boring. I dont think the Gozanti should be just a reduction of the CR-90.
So correct me if I'm wrong... Gozantis are just like IJN CL in WW2 where they are Destroyer Flotilla leaders and support them in their attacks?
So going by that analogy, Gozantis are utilised as squadron leaders for snubs and also a point for "better squadron command, control, communications and computing"?
Well the modified CR90 called the Night Crawler was able to field 4 TIEs. I would likely put its command as high as 2 and give it light firepower

I have no idea of WW2 ships or ships at all. But I think "better squadron command, control, communications and computing" is the idea.
Honestly, I think this ship is too small for a small base.
According to Wookiepedia, Gonzati is 45 meters. The Falcon is 35. The CR90 is 150 meters.
It looks like it is designed to escort convoys and protect them from lone pirates (e.g Falcon, Ghost, maybe a couple snub fighters) or more simply, armed merchant ships.
That certainly is a revelation.
I just checked Hound's Tooth length and it's 62m. So going by that logic, it deserves a squadron base or large base in X-Wing's terminology.
If we take that to consideration, Gozanti in stock configuration may at best have 1 squadron value. Unless it's a variant modified for C4 operations with snubs, than it's alright to have a higher squadron value.
Edited by cruiser2710I just checked Hound's Tooth length and it's 62m.
The hounds tooth size is annoyingly complicated now.
In the now legends stuff, it was 62m, however, it appears in clone wars and when they drew it there someone wasn't paying attention and drew it significantly smaller, so now in official canon it is listed as forty-some meters long.
The gozanti is likewise all over the place as far as scale, with values ranging from 42m to sixty some to some fan calculations based on tie fighter size of seventy some.

Rabble rabble rabble!
Its 130 on the Lego website.
The gozanti is only 42m if you want to fit micro 4m TIE's underneath it.
It really appears to be GR75 in length. So significantly smaller than a CR90 still, but now has an interior like you see in rebels (holding/prisoner cell area) and can fit a few squads of storm troopers packed inside of it.
It is still a quite narrow ship though, not a roomy interior.
What if it was a "squadron" that buffs nearby fighters?
I did mention that it could be a "squadron" with rouge that can "activate" a fighter when it activates.
Perhaps make it a squadron with 1 red die in the battery armament that can be fired at long range. Anti squadron value of maybe 2 blue dice to represent the ties.

I think with conversion rate, it amounts to $250 in Singapore
I'm certainly liking the idea of a fighter that activates other fighters.
Yeah, its a neat idea for using a freighter/other ship to "pull" an escort around the board with it.
Even if the rule was just to allow a friendly fighter to activate instead of the gozanti (but switching the gonzanti's toggle instead of its own), I could see uses. For example, take an interceptor, a bomber, and a gozanti - if you need fighter cover you effectively get 2 activations of the interceptor, whilst if you need bomber support, you get 2 bomber activations instead.

Wow, that's remarkably similar to the card I made for it:
