They're still missing some more weathering and the OSL on the engines. Beside that they're both ready to smack some imperial face

I'm especially proud of the symetrical rebel logos, especially because it was my first freehand attempt ever. The rest is pretty much a quick and easy paintjob done with oil paints, oil washes and some pigments.

Hope you like them, input and ideas for improvement is always welcome :)

Quite nice. They certainly look suitably dirty and the logos pops nicely against the bright hulls of the ships.

Nice - particularly the canopy on the X-Wing, real good fade imho

Those are freaking superb. Love 'em.

They look great, lovely freehand, great looking canopies. Interesting to read you've used oil paints, have never tried oil myself but the results certainly speak for themselves

Thanks a lot for the nice feedback! :D

@Though Guy - I had my oil paints around for quite some time and finally wanted to test them. So far I really enjoyed painting with them, especially on such small miniatures. It's not really hard though, you just paint the colors where you want them and wipe of the excess with a Q-tip and some white spirit.

Those look really classy!

The X-Wing is absolutely beautiful! How did you do it?!?!

Excellent work, and holy smokes 'dose Rebel emblems! Well done.

On we go! Finally had some time to get some paint on a B-Wing and a second X-Wing, hope you like them.

Comments good or bad are highly appreciated! :)

Basically a combination of some quick Airbrush layers, followed by painting the cockpits light blue and making a nice wetblend into a darker blue. After that I do the emblem freehands.

When these are done I use black and brown oil paints to weather the ships and clean them up with white spirit as much as I want. Last step so far is using black pigments on the guns and engines followed by a layer of matt coat.

Missing so far are the blue engine OSL's though, will do a bunch of them in one run I guess.

Here are a couple based on Von Richthofen in the first World War
