Imperial stress list- imperial panic attack

By thebigeb2589, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I've been messing around with some control lists and was wondering what the hive mind thought of this.

LAMBDA-CLASS SHUTTLE: Omicron Group Pilot (21)

Advanced Sensors (3)

Engine Upgrade (4)

Tactician (2)

Tactician (2)

LAMBDA-CLASS SHUTTLE: Omicron Group Pilot (21)

Tactician (2)

FIRESPRAY-31: Bounty Hunter (33)

Tactician (2)

Here's my thinking all these tacticians equals a ton of stress tokens really allowing me to crush down on my opponents actions forcing them to fly slower and predictable in order to try and shed the stress.

Advanced sensors on the shuttles allows then to boost and then hard two in the same turn which is (not quite but) almost a k turn allowing them to shake off the enemy or at least get something back in their sites. And since Tactician is not interrupted by being stressed they can do this sorta-k-turn and still deal stress.

I realize that Tactician is limited to range two but I seem to find myself their more often then not anyway.

30 hull and shield to chew through and three attack dice on every ship is nice too. So even if I'm not at range two for tact I get 4 attack dice at range one with every ship in the list which is no joke either. Obvious downside is 1 agility on the shuttles but I'm hoping the k turn being so wide will help with that too.

Any thoughts on weather or not this could be competitive or have I just hyped this up to myself.

I definitely think it has a chance. You'll still have problems with arc dodgers, but all the stress you deal will help somewhat.

My only suggestion would be to swap Tactician to Rebel Captive on the Firespray. That way, your opponent has to stress himself the first time he shoots at it, or else ignore it and let it get up close and personal. It keeps you from having to sit at range 2 so much.

you can definitely put a hurt on a lot of lists... my suggestion would be to start the shuttles at opposite corners. Even with the advanced sensor boost hard 2 turn once ships get behind them its hard to swing about. with shuttles starting in opposite corners they can get a pincer fire going which can be nice

You could try Firesprays with Flechette Cannon + Tactician, if you think the shuttles are too sluggish. Kath Scarlet is an option as well.

Example:

Bounty Hunter + Flechette Cannon + Tactician

Kath Scarlet + Mangler Cannon + Tactician

Dark Curse

I love the idea of rebel captive on the firespray. Not sure why I didn't think of that, probably because I was stuck in Tactician mode Lol. The pinser formation is nice as well I think I'll give both of them a shot.

Or get really sneaky like :

Kath Scarlett - "Mangler", Calculation, Rebel Captive

OGP - Mara Jade Tactician

Black Squadron Pilot x 2

Mara Jade helps keep enemies out of range 1 , else they get stress, then at range 2 you can enable tactician :)
