I really think, FFG didn't realize how powerful the TIE Advanced is now. They used the community to help them understand it. They spoil it and let the community absorb and use it on Vassal and friendly games. They get feedback which helps them understand it. It's really a good strategy, they playtest then spoil to the community so we can play test for them and they can fix it, when we identify the issues. So when it's release they can print a FAQ and change things if they need to.

After realizing how powerful it is. They didn't want an entire nationals and worlds dominated by it. Hence they figure if they release it as the same time as Wave 7, now the meta changes completely and many more options are open to gamers for building lists. It also helps that Gencon is there and they can do presales and get lots of money for it, On hand. This way they can show on their books how much money they made at Gencon and give a reason to invest more into it next year.

I'm also pretty certain that flying out product eats into whatever direct profits they get from selling it direct.

The thing that I can't buy the advanced with the new "fix" cards alone at 15-20$ is annoying and makes me sad.

I already bought the advanced, they change the game, and I need to spend 100 to play my already paid ship.

They need to sell the Epic ships and epic related things alone, not everyone wants a Tantive or a Raider...

Is not a new upgrade with cost, that maybe is better or not, but you must equip etc, is a free upgrade that everyone should have.

If the folks at my FLGS want to borrow a ship or upgrade, I'm usually fine with it as long as I know then and am not planning on using it. I know others are the same way.

Secondary Market might also be interesting, as especially the Tie Advanced cards come in quadruples...!

Honestly i'll be buying the Raider so i can epic at Rebels. The fact it makes my TIE Advanced amazing is a byproduct.

Brights were also rebel terms for TIE Advanced.

Squints were interceptors. Eyeballs were fighters, dubes were bombers, trips for defenders.

I have read the x-wing books I don't remember brights though, hmm learn something new every day.

Yeah. I'm dying for it to get here, but it may be a little after the date listed in the main thread. However, there is no guarantee that FFG updates the Upcoming page right away -- it could have been on the boat for a whole week already! Wishful thinking? Yeah, maybe.
