I already preordered the Raider and Wave 7 when I had the money. My wife won't be happy when all these ships show up at once, but at least I can say they didn't come out of current budget. ![]()
unOFFICIAL: X-wing Raider and Wave 7 August; 2nd Confirmation
i'm eagerly awaiting, still august is a bad month for me, moving into new hizzouse, spending on new appliances, garden tools, deck building stuff, new doors...
Will have to carefully filter funds into my "me" account before time. thinking i have at least 2 paydays - prolly 3, 100 bucks each into that should do it. Meh, was going to buy a set of 3 scout squads + storms for my raptors now they have their BS4 back. Just for all the rendings.
Edited by DariusAPBI really think, FFG didn't realize how powerful the TIE Advanced is now. They used the community to help them understand it. They spoil it and let the community absorb and use it on Vassal and friendly games. They get feedback which helps them understand it. It's really a good strategy, they playtest then spoil to the community so we can play test for them and they can fix it, when we identify the issues. So when it's release they can print a FAQ and change things if they need to.
After realizing how powerful it is. They didn't want an entire nationals and worlds dominated by it. Hence they figure if they release it as the same time as Wave 7, now the meta changes completely and many more options are open to gamers for building lists. It also helps that Gencon is there and they can do presales and get lots of money for it, On hand. This way they can show on their books how much money they made at Gencon and give a reason to invest more into it next year.
My two cents:

My two cents:
No. And hell no. I'm pretty sure FFG would be delighted to see something other than turrets and brobots at every finals table.
there are always a lot of wild guesses and conjecture about release dates on this board, but Newt's info has always been good. I don't know how many bothans died, but I'll take the intel as solid. He has not failed us yet.
Do you listen to reason and examples? Here are some:
1. RAIDER:
You will note, In march he told us Raider in August. He says the same thing now. No change.
So far consistent
2. Armada Core: He said March 25.
It did release very close to that. Mini Mart took about another week to proceed my personal core order, it got here early April.
CONFIRMED CORRECT
3. Armada Wave 1: He said early May.
It released around May 10 or so. I got my shipping May 18 from MM.
CONFIRMED CORRECT
4. Armada Dice packs: Meh, it was announced.
Correct, but not a hard call here either.
--
So, in all your righteous screaming to be "right", English-correct and what not, very very few of you have even bothered to look at the facts and do some real checking work. All I hear is a bunch of miserable "I must be right" type of talk.
I am extremely ashamed of you.
Also Newt seems to have a great sense of humor and patience. He now only uses the word "Official" in Armada. Which, he means only in the loose street-cool sense of the word.
---
Also, just to note for new players: You're still better off waiting for a for sure confirmation of release and the final release preview before pre-ordering anything Xwing or Armada. Do not pre-order in this game if you don't want to see your money languish for months.

Also: seriously AUGUST FFG! This is still unacceptable! #Rage.
Blail, if I knew how to insert that brady bunch snickers commercial here, I would. no one was attacking him, some of the newbies don't know his track record. breathe buddy.

My two cents:
Their competitive player sales are a small portion of their larger sales (as is gencon, which likely costs them extra money to ship here by air early). It would be incredibly strange for a company to sit on product (and essentially take losses) because of the tournament scene, especially when the majority of said product (the raider itself) has no impact on tournament play whatsoever.

Additionally I don't think it matters literally at all if nobody believes our newt friend since nothing any of us do here will likely change the release date. Just not something worth getting worked up about.

After reading the new Space Marines codex I feel almost necron level ashamed to play them ... I made a Gladius Strike Force list at 1500 pts that was 82 marines with bolters, 6 multi-meltas, 10 razorbacks w/twin linked heavy bolters, and a total of 26 Objective Secured units. When I realized that it would take an army with 8 units a full 6 turns to get a single round of firing on each of my units I shivered.
Yeaaah but my friend plays Eldar so no real guilt here. I just love all the rending playing Raptors gives me. And Trolling with Lias...

My two cents:
This is some of the worst paranoia I have seen on this forum. Especially considering the TIE Advanced stuff isn't THAT powerful.
I'm also pretty certain that flying out product eats into whatever direct profits they get from selling it direct.
It doesn't say when in August. Buts definitely not July and not September. I don't know what your grievance is.
It also doesn't say which August - there's one every year you know ![]()

Well except that one time...

Uh, what's so shameful about Necrons?

4 up reanimation protocols I think.

Same! I'm literally standing in my new condo, watching people install about $6k of electric stuff. Seems our old fusebox was a) no longer up to code and b) had been recalled 30 years previously for being a fire hazard.
Homes are _expensive_ to own!

This is why nobody trusts a hobo.
Thread not only derailed, but the train just took an AGM65x to each carriage.
I'm just going to kill 2 birds with one stone and live in my Raider. It's big enough right?
I have checked with my FLGS yesterday and they did inform me that they have a shipment coming in august of the Raider and Wave 7...so get them wallets ready!
Back again with news, official to me and unofficial to you,
I just received a second confirmation that X-Wing Wave 7 is slated for August this year and Bossk is smuggling in the long awaited Imperial Raider with it. Orders are due by July 7th so run to your stores and get your orders in!
EDIT: ****UPDATE****
Hi again,
I just received word that the order due date has been changed to July 6th.
Also, this is the 3rd confirmation of X-Wing wave 7, Raider and now the Armada Maneuver Tool for August.
Shipment is taking place late July, so this puts this release early August. I will let you know when to expect them in stores.
Fly safe o7,
Newt

Raider! Bossk! ZOMGWTFIJUSTCAME
Seriously though? Spending only $30 to get a Raider (good Karma, what can I say?) will make me feel much, much better about dropping a bunch of cash on all the YV-666s. Though honestly, if I hadn't been offered a Raider for $30, I probably wouldn't have bought one (sadly).
But I know a FLGS that frequently has "50% overstock sales" for X-Wing stuff (I got my Decimator and a pair of IGs from em' all for half off!)... maybe I should wait a week or two, see if that happens yet again, and save a bunch of cash on Wave 7.

Shame clearly need not enter into the equation...
Just ordered my Raider, so hoping the August date is accurate! C'mon, Kuat, don't let me down!
