question about combat rules

By dahakka, in Battlelore

Hi all, i've been searching and reading topics, but i haven't found anything about my question, maybe it's obvius, but not for me. So, the question is:

When 2 o more units attack the same enemy unit, have you to throw dice separately for each unit? I do it, but if flags appear then units lose their attack (melee), maybe they still are in range when using archers, but no with infantry, in the rulebook theres is an example of two units attacking, but this question isn't solved, thank you.

Yes, you throw dice for each unit seperately. Since one unit attacking could be a blue unit and the other green.

And if on your first roll, you roll some flags and the unit retreats, then the other attacking unit(s) will lose its abiilty to attack MELEE wise if there is no other unit to attack next to it. Of course, if the 2nd unit is archers, then it can still attack via range - remember if this unit did move, it does lose 1 dice normally (unless you have some command/lore card you played this turn that says otherwise).

Yes, one does resolve each unit's combat separately, and order chosen by the controlling player often has an impact on the action. There is an embedded figure, the hornblower, that does allow simultaneous combat from two units, but that is an exception not a rule :)

EDIT: funny, speaking of simultaneous ;)

Thank you so much! I was right then gran_risa.gif . I have just played the first battle and i really enjoyed
