/ What are peoples predictions regarding the remaining four books?
Future spec book predictions
I think we will see books for soldier, engineer, spy and commander in some type of order.

Meh, I doubt it. You didn't really provide much reasoning behind your theory.
We just got the Diplomat book, so I'd say odds are we'll see one of the combat-centric careers get covered next, either Commander or Soldier.
After that, we're likely to see Engineer or Spy as the next not-so-combat-centric career, followed by the last combat career and likely ending with the final non-com career.
As to the exact order beyond that... not a clue.
I'm really hoping it will be the Soldier career book. There is a lot of potential of different types of specializations.
I could see potentially:
Special Ops Soldier
Air Striker
The Negotiator
I'm hoping Commander is next, as that is the career I most want to see fleshed out
I was thinking content. Commander and Spy are the hardest for me to guess for new specs. The 3 Commander specializations seem to cover all its bases (space command, small unit command and ground command - although I guess Squadron Leader doesn't cover small ground units). Spy already shares two from EotE, and I'm drawing a blank on new possibilities. I guess there's a good reason I'm not involved in coming up with ideas.
I'm pretty sure it will be Commander or Soldier, Engineer or Spy, Then whichever is left from the first pair followed by whichever is left of the second pair.
For Commader I would like a spec focused on large unit command like armies, full fighter wings, and fleets and maybe ones focused on specific types of operations like supply raids and ambushes. For Engineer one focused on the design and maintenance of Starships and vehicles, one focused in the design and creation of personal equipment, and one focused on privatization in the field.
I'm betting Engineer will be the fifth or sixth AoR splat book. We've only got two EotE splat books left to come, one of which will be Technician, and I don't think they will want to release the two "techie" books right on top of one another.
I would have thought that as well but then they released Ace Pilot and Smuggler together

True, but Fly Casual dealt more with smuggler specs and enhancements to tramp freighters running illicit cargo. Stay on Target was focused on hot shot pilots, drivers, and beast riders with enhancements to star fighters and rules for incorporating astromechs.
The logic from the previous poster is sound that two technician books will probably be spaced due to similar rules.
Perhaps. We really haven't had a case where they had the chance to do two similar career books together though so predicting what they will do is much harder.
I could see Mechanic and Engineer diverging in different ways, with Mechanic remaining technology focused while Engineer branches into other sciences (Doctor wouldn't surprise me).
Is commander really a combat character, I thought of it as more of a buffer, and spy as more combat due to infiltrator... I think that there will be a social/shooty spie spec

I'd say it is. Squadron Leader and Tactician are definitely combat specs, or at least Leadership-based Combat specs.
I'm hoping Spy actually gets a spec that makes them good at spying and infiltration, because really the Infiltrator tree is more focused on melee combat than it is breaking into places. And there really isn't a good "James Bond-esque" spec in that Career.

Here's my take on a James Bond Spec
I went for the social/clever/shooty spy, but I think it fits your concept regarding breaking in amd infiltration. There are a few talents that overlap with infiltrator (soft spot and clever solution) but tbesides ranked talents that's about it.

Defense 0, Soak 1, Price 1500, encumbrance 3, Hard Points 0, Rarity 8.
My 2 cents:
Commander needs an insurgent/rebel cell commander, a spy network leader, 3rd at a stretch could be a base commander
Engineers need a weapons expert (gadgeteer+outlaw tech?), a droid/cybernetics/meat bag (half the tree on Cybernetic/Droids, the other half cloning and medicines) researcher and a Base/buildings modifier
Soldier could use: A Heavy/Grenadier, A spaceship boarding expert, the Bodyguard(or something like it?)
Spy could include an Agitatorish type spec, the Assassin could fit, also the Gunslinger/Gambler (+Charmer?) would be a great Bond
I like looking at the different trees we have and seeing where half of 1 tree works well with half of another tree! as an example I love the way that Politico was sort of split into Agitator and Ambassador.
Engineers also need something specializing in creating new items and vehicles IMO.
The game has no spec for a mech + social mix - Technician/Engineer could definitely use something like Quartermaster, but less sucky.

I was thinking much the same, but with an adverse terrain spec instead of Bodyguard; like the Alliance's counter to the sand/snow/swamp/whatevertroopers of the Empire. A weapon expert spec for Engineer would make sense, but maybe a Rigger-esque spec focused on Silhouette 5 vehicles, like a capital ship technician and then maybe a chemist spec.
What about species? I predict Wookiee and Zabrak will crop up somewhere in an AoR book somewhere.
I'm looking for a martial artist spec somewhere, hopefully in soldier... since they have medicine as a skill pressure point could be an option for them.

Why do you think Commodore wouldn't be considered a combat spec? AFAIK it is very rare for there to be space battles in Star Wars where capital ships are present and don;'t get into the fight. Probably because very few capital size warships in Star Wars that aren't equipped and armed for close quarters combat with enemy fleets, and many of those that don't have anti ship weapons are meant as anti-fighter vessels so they still get into the thick of it.
I'm (perhaps biasedly) thinking of combat in an RPG as personal scale combat. "Fighter" pilots and anyone firing guns also count as combatants. But my definition of the guy giving bonuses by giving orders is a "buffer" not a "combatant". I wouldn't consider modern day generals to be combatants.
Ahh where I consider anyone in a position where they, or whatever vehicle they command are often being shot at during battles a combat commander. Though I will agree that cap ship commanders often buff other crew members rolls rather then rolling themselves.

Both of you have good ideas for the soldier!
1- Special Weapons Operator for the grenadier/heavy spec.
2- Marine for the spaceship boarding spec. Make it a class focused on close ranged combat and starfighter combat.
3- Specialist for the adverse terrain type.
