Funny in-game situations

By kuba4, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

1. Multi Player Game: Sansa Stark (core set) got in one round: Milk of the Poppy, Poisoned Wine, and... Stinking Drunk:)

2. I've played Stark. After Morghulis. Oponent had only Rhaegal and other charackter (dont remember exacly whom) on table. I draw Bran (no icon:() and....Summer (yess Bran gains Military Icon and Stealth:)). He charged on Targs, and was blocked by Rhaegal. Next turn my plot was Holding the Trident so much stronger Bran charged:P

I had a mountain refugee on the field. I equipped him with devious intentions. Gained 3 power and placed it on him. I compelled by the rock an aegon's blade. Gained 2 more power and placed it on him. He went from a 2 icon 2 str disposable to a 9 str tri-con with stealth and renown. He was promptly valared the following turn. I thought he had a good run.

Hmm, most of my best "funny" situations are older ones so some of you newer players may need to go look up some of these cards. I need to get in some more games to build up a more recent collection of funny moments, but here are some oldies but goodies:

Fun with trait manipulation:

Playing with traits has always been fun. Today I use old Nan to call Joff a raven or Lion's Gate to do the same to Stannis and then shuffle them away with a carrion bird. This trick isn't exactly new though...

Couple years ago a friend had a Lanni/Greyjoy deck that used Gossiping Bards to turn charcters into warships then used "discard a warship" effects to get rid of them. "Dude, you sank my Direwolf? (Yes that is an exact quote)

And the reverse revenge in a different game (using the attachment version of Grey Wind): Greyjoys had a warship that could become a character. "Well, my Grey Wind eats your warship."

Fun with Joust/Melee (Tourney of Swords)

So back with Tourney of Swords everyone was playing tourney grounds and for a while I ran a deck that used both Stark melee grounds and Lanni joust grounds (for card draw using Tourney Season event to put into play without OOH cost). I would attack with 1 character (so it's a joust) wait till the opponent would defend then jump in 2 Horseback Archers (did I mention it was a Targ Deck with Treaty to Stark?) thus turning the challenge into a melee one with a surprise higher claim (Starke melee grounds raised claim by 1 per). That was always fun if I could pull it off.

Fun with math and multiplayer:

The game gets a bit surreal when someone says "I cound 56 for dominance" and someone else responds "I have more."

Have you ever put Rhakaro into play on the 12th+ round of a multiplayer game? A 6 player multiplayer. Then added Bloodrider? Of course.... you can try this now with your Silent Sister in the shadows.... I've seen a Rhakaro up to 86. My goal is to get a Silent Sister higher one of these days.

thats going to be hard. Rhakaro had 2-5 other dead piles to tally up with. Silent sisters only gets 1.

Oops, forgot about that. Ah well, maybe they'll reprint him again for the whatever-ith time.

That's going to be pretty hard to do, since Silent Sisters only count characters in your own dead pile unlike Rakharo who counts opponents dead piles. I suppose you could run a 100 card deck of all characters, and hope they all die? :-)

Haha, stupid forums. Breaking my quote, AND making me too slow to respond in time.

now thats a "funny in-forum situation" :P

The biggest laugh I've had so far was the following exchange in a melee:

Player 1: "Can I Milk a dragon?"

Player 2 (incredulous look on his face): "Have you ever tried to milk a dragon?"

A game from past. Charged with strong Martell Army to Shagga Son of a Dolf;)

Yeah. I milked a Carrion Bird once. Had a hard time finding it's nipples, but it sounds better than a dragon gran_risa.gif
