Pilot Skill V.

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing

After watching the season 2 premier of Rebels, "The Siege of Lothal" I feel that Vader should get an errata to his pilot skill.

Pilot Skill V, where V = the pilot with the highest PS (other than Vader)'s PS +1. Basically means Vader is always the highest PS regardless of any other factor in the game. Except maybe Roark and Torkhil.

Haha but seriously Vader was incredible in that episode.

Vader isn't that great of a pilot. R2-D2 is. Look back through all the movies (admittedly I havn't seen all of rebels...YET). Pretty much every time Anakin/Vader does something really awesome, R2-D2 is there.

Heck, even when Vader switches sides (or rather R2 does), Vader shoots R2-D2 in the trench run. He KNOWS who the real threat is and is seeking to eliminate it. Too bad R2 had already switched that targeting computer back on. It's a whole other story if the Deathstar doesn't blow.

R2 also owns some Gundarks while flying Anakin's fighter in TCW.

But watch the season 2 premiere and you might see what I mean about Vader.

Vader did great at popping Lightning Reflexes during that dogfight.

His evade rolls were perfect too.

Also that episode inspired a new A-Wing-only title.

Yeah, Vader was shooting at the Awings and must have had his Advanced Targeting Computer on. He got 2 hits, his ATC added a crit, the Awings rolled 3 blanks on their evades and the Vader drew Direct hit for his crit like 5 times. Awings are no match for the Dark Lord of the Sith!

And he totally owned the Rebel command ship all by himself. He was a beast!

I think Han Solo will beg to differ.

He shot first after all.

I'm like half a season behind. It's been good so far. No Vader sightings yet for me.

This is a common misconception. Han did not in fact shoot first. Han shot. That is all. Greedo never got a chance to fire.

Vader needs a card to explain how his 2 attack can crit a command ship repeatedly. It was awesome but sheesh... the smaller ship was taking broadside fire from actual turbo lasers with only cosmetetic damage.

Any dice rolled are canceled and whatever you were shooting at inexplicably explodes.

Now, I'm not up with all the Rebels stuff, but I thought the A Wing was designed and built after Yavin? And that Rebels takes place before Yavin? So how is there A Wings in Rebels?

Because A-Wings are cool and they put them in the show. Nowhere in Canon does it say that they weren't around before ANH.

If you're not first, you're last - Ricky Bobby

So are you saying Han shot last? :P

I think the best maneuver Vader had in the season 2 premier was the modified Koiogran maneuver. It seemed to me he performed a Koiogran, but kept on going in his initial direction all the while shooting at the pursuing A-Wings. Impressive, most impressive.

This episode made me want to get my advanced on the board :)

Nah, Han did shoot first. He just came back twenty years later out of pity for Greedo, y'know to give him another shot (pun intended), but when he missed him, he was so outraged by the show of terrible skill, he shot him again.

They aren't A-Wings. At least not OUR A-wings. Pheonix Squadron were flying R-22 Spearheads...the ship the A-Wing Interceptors were based on. The confussion is because the flyboys called the R-22s "A-Wings", so Dodonna used the nickname for the new craft.

I'm still trying to figure out why the Y Wings showed up Clone Wars.

Pre Disney they were old until the rebels rebooted them but they werent put out until after the Clone Wars ended.

Then all of a sudden Anni's leading a squadron of them.

They all die of course....cause thats what wishbones do, but it was odd to see them.

No wyou tell me Awings are there too!?

My kids and I were certainly a bit dumbfounded at the fact that he nearly took down a ship that large on his own not to mention the swarm of A-wings. Quality viewing however. :)

I always thought that the Tie Advanced should have had 3 attack instead of 2.

This...the "A-Wings" in the screenshot above are very obviously NOT A-Wings. That would be the above mentioned R-22.

The fun thing about the "EU cannon is no longer cannon" is that it's a very misleading sentiment. They mean that they don't have to adhere to it in any way they wish to deviate (I'm going to wager Vector Prime and friends are a huge reason for that). However, if FFG and Rebels have shown us...they are very happy to pull from the EU and actually make it cannon. Why ignore stuff that works well?

I'm sorry guys, but even the paint scheme agrees, those are A-Wings. Just the same as in the previews for the season they showed us B-Wings.

By the end of the season they'll have the rebels flying E-Wings
