I;m getting ready for a store tourney, running Fel + PTL, RGT, AT, SD, Carnor Jax with VI, RGT, AT, SD, and a shuttle with Vader and HLC. I have two free points after setting this up (designed to beat at least decent against brobots, which is the squad to beat). My question is, would you recommend FCS or Tactician for the shuttle? FCS seems really solid with HLC but Tactician gets used quite a bit, admittedly usually on B-Wings it seems - one thing to consider is that I have no experience with Tactician, and it seems like an upgrade that might require some practice.

Doomshuttle should have no upgrades other than Vader.
Not FCS, Not Tactician, Not HLC.

You're too fragile to use them effectively in that way.

If you want something that deviates from that wisdom, may I suggest a Magical White Space Cow?
That is to say, a Fire Control System, a Gunner, and an Engine Upgrade.

It's one point more expensive than the HLC Doomshuttle you're currently considering, and a heckofalot more effective

I feel HLC is too expensive for a ship that you will be Vadering to death. If you want an HLC shuttle I would drop Vader, add engine and go for a 2 pt initiative bid for Fel.

I heard that a lot, but I've had quite a bit of success with HLC + sparingly used Vader. I'll take your advice, though, as you two probably have much more experience than I do. The two points for initiative was something I was considering as well, I like Pogie's idea quite a bit Have to give it a go! Thanks guys!

Definitely no HLC with Darth Vader. You lose wayy too much. You could drop Vader and take Tact and FCS. That's a great ship, even lower HLC down to Gunner, which is much more effective with both upgrades.

But Shuttle + Vader with no other upgrades is great too.

Doom Shuttle is just vader. If it were me, I'd consider a Doom Leader instead, but that would mean trimming down Fel and Jax.
